Entire network

This is a discussion about Entire network in the Windows Software category; I have searched the forums, but no one has asked this question before (which indicates that it is stupid. . ?!) Well, here it goes: I wonder what the Icon Entire network is good for. When I click it, I am presented with a nice window that is completly empty except for the picture in the lover right corner.

I have searched the forums, but no one has asked this question before (which indicates that it is stupid..?!) Well, here it goes:
I wonder what the Icon "Entire network" is good for. When I click it, I am presented with a nice window that is completly empty except for the picture in the lover right corner. If I want to browse the workgroups on the network I am connected to, I have to click view entire contents to the left. I can´t place any shortcuts there and I can´t map any networkdrives there, as they end up in "My computer". So the question is, what fun can I do with "Entire Network" that I am not aware of (and yes, I have searched in the help files to)

Interesting question. I was looking around to see what it was used for and I noticed a little link on the left side: "You may also view the entire contents of the network." Maybe that little picture that shows up is one of the Explorer nags screens that are built in to Windows such as when you try to go into the WINNT or WINNT\System32 folders. When you click on the "entire contents" link, a Microsoft Windows Network shows up on my screen and then I am able to browse through the various workgroups and computers on that network. Anyone else find any uses for the entire network place?
