very strange reboot issue..

This is a discussion about very strange reboot issue.. in the Windows Software category; one minute i am browsing and surfing and icq and winamp etc. and the very next second the screen goes black and the computer reboot!!! like a hacker shut it down suddenly. . . has anyone had this too? is it an icq problem or hacker? i am installing antihacker software and hope it will not happen again.

This can be many things. Windows 2000 reboots if a fatal crash happens. I wouldn't go as far to say a hacker can control windows 2000. Windows 2000 has really good security It's probably a conflict when you run all those applications. What is your system specs?

I also have a reboot issue
 
ill say not all the time, but pretty often as soon as i get in the " add remove program " text box .. win2ooo is suddently rebooting .. damm i hate that im almost scared to open this menu box now
 
i am the only one to have this

just disable "reboot on system failure" in control panel / system / advanced / startup and recovery ...
 
win2k will show u a nice bluescreen then instead of rebooting and you can actually see what application caused the crash
 
its not a bug - its a feature

thanks, for letting me know about this absolutely fabulous exciting new feature that bill gates decide to include in it...
i will try disabling it.
this doesn't happen often however only once or twice a week perhaps, really irregular wiht different actiont, one time is when i switch to winamp one time is when i click start...
