which driver is better for tnt 2

i have win2k pro and a diamond viper v770 tnt2. using the 3. 78 detonator drivers quake3 runs about 4 frames slower than win98. Which drivers would be best for my tnt2? 3. 83 or 5. 13 or any other drivers? Is it a driver problem or is it a win2k problem? Should i keep w2k or win98?.

Man, I'm losing my temper here with win2k! I love the OS but NOT microsoft! Now. . . another major problem. Why is it that there is some sort of a debugger installed on win2k pro by default?! Hiding folders in Favorites

I know how to make W2K stop hiding folders that arent recently used in my start menu but how the HELL do you get it to stop hiding folders in favorites?? I'll try to go to a site in my favorites that I go to DAILY and sometimes it is hidden.

I m sorry this is not very clear, but I would like to see all my disk drives when I open windows explorer and not have to click once on my computer to be able to see them. . Thanks for the help, Cheers.

While not an AMD user, I saw this post on agn3d. com that I think may help out some of the peeps on this board. It seems to state that the wrong AGP-to-CPU bridge driver is being used and there is some way to fix it.

Hard Drive Icons...

I enjoyed having different icons for each drive in explorer by creating an autorun. inf file on the drive root. This doesn't work in Win2k, so I tried a program called Iconphile. It screwed up my drive icons and now all I have is blank icons (white square with Windows logo).

I have a Compaq Armda V300 upgraded to Windows 2000. It's quite all ok (a part it does not go in standby 'cause not supported by the keyboard!?). The main problem is that I could not find a mean to assign a com port to the infrared port and use a mobile phone to connect to internet.

Which is fastest, NTFS or FAT32?

Hi I believe I have heard that NTFS(for win2k) is slower than fat32, but then I suddenly stumble across , Which states that NTFS is faster than FAT32? Now which is right? Anybody that knows? plz, Im soon on my way to reinstall my system due to a new harddrive, so It would be nice info.

IT just Locks up!!! NeOne HELP!

I installed Windows 2000 on my system multiple times, and when I start using it moments after I get in it just locks up. . . the mouse stops moving and the graphics just distort for a sec and it locks up.

Shut down problems!!!

Please help me guys. Each time I shut down or restart my system, it takes about 5 minutes to fully reboot or shutdown! I could however use the power off button on my PC, but each time I do that scandisk is scaning my files on the next boot, thinking I had an illigal shut down.

I read your reply to the just locking up question. Ok i also have a graphics annhilator and well heres my specs 500 amd k7 300 watt power supply fic sd11 motherboard 256 ram i've installed win multiple times and switched the ram around to no avail.

Hi guys! Does anybody knows how to set to zero second the ten second countdown of scandisk after a dirty reboot? I have seven partitions in my box. It's very boring when W2K decides to scan all of them, waiting for 10 seconds for each disk before starting its job - 70 seconds in total! I did not find any related *.

Killing a process.....

Is there a way to kill a process from the command line? Banyan Vines (yes, it still exists)starts two processes at login. The launch is done through the EXE as far as I can tell. The user needs to be able to log in, then the process needs to be stopped at startup.
