TIP! Changing your Login Screensaver

To change the logon screensaver (the white box that has your version of Windows 2000 or NT(I assume) popping around the screen), locate the screensaver called logon. scr in your Winnt/System32 directory.

Loosing internet connection

Hi I just started a new ISP, and I keep loosing my connection to their server. I have no problem connecting,and everythings ok as long as I keep moving from site to site but as soon as I stop to read a page for a few minutes I get disconected.

slow load-up of desktop

on this machine just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. it takes about 10-15 seconds for all the icons on my desktop to fully appear and before i can click on anything. win2000 Athlon 600 128mb RAM *clean install my guess is, there's a bunch of start-up programs running at the background at startu-up.

Trying to install DUALBOOT HELP!

I am currently running Win2000 and I would like to add Win98 (Korean Version) to it with dualboot option. Win2000 is running off 30GB HD on primary channel's master. I would like to use slave drive of primary channel as Win98's drive, in Win2000, it's assigned as D: drive.

V770 ultra and win2k = display too dark

I have a Diamond V770 ultra (no driver or software available from diamond) on my win2k pro machine. On previous version of the Windows OS, I found that I had to turn up contrast, brightness and alpha correction so I could see graphics correctly in OpenGL games.

I already have Win98 on my system. I want to install Win2k on a seperate partition. I have two HD'S in my system. From the command winnt32. exe I start to load win2k. I choose the option to select my own partition for win2k.

Hibernate and relocation of hiberfil.sys

Does someone knows how to redirect the hiberfil. sys file to another drive? Win2k is installed on my C: drive. I would like to have the hibernate file on the E: drive which is faster, as I have already done for the pagefile.

Shell startup (after logging in): Tray load-up

Well i am running windows 2000 but recently decided it would be worth the hasle to reformat my ntfs partition and dual boot my computer so that i could load some of my more incompatable applications on to windows 98 and still use 2000 if desired.

Auto Arrange Files by DATE

When selecting Auto Arrange by Date , the files or folders are arranged in a Decending order. How does one specify if one wants to arrange in an Accending date order ?? Through the Reg files ??.

PS2Rate, USBRate ???

Before i got my sweet intellimouse explorer, i used ps2 rate with my mouse. It was so smooth at 200mhz, but when i got my new mouse, it was usb. it is smooth and all, but myfriends that still use ps2 have a much smoother mouse.
