quake 3 - windows 2000

Please can somebody help me, i'm having problems running Quake 3 arena on windows 2000, using a pentium 3 600mhz, Voodoo 3500 graphics card, other games run fine i. e Unreal Tournament, Soldier of fortune.

Need some help with Rainbow Six in Windows 2K

I'm having some problems getting Windows 2000 to run Rainbow Six. I tried the registry hack from the compatibility page and it didn't seem to work. If some one can help me I would sure appreciate it.

TNT, Win2k, and emulators

Why is it that running emulators (snes9x and callus specifically) in full screen stretch mode is so horrible in 2k? The framerate stinks, and I don't get that nice edge antialiasing effect that I get in 98.

I saw this bandaid fix at 2cpu. com. . . I HAD THAT PROBLEM, BUT IT WORKS FINE NOW! Here is how you fix that DAMN white screen lockup! You MUST play quake3 in SMP mode in REALTIME. The easiest way to do this, is modify the shortcut on the desktop to read this! cmd.

Blood2 and Win2k

When I try Blood2 I can not see the menues. The intro movies work fine, but the ingame menues are black. I can hear that they work, and If I jump blindfolded and press ENTER different things happen. So its just that its black.

Shogun reboots me!

I'm trying to run Shogun under 2k. When I start the program it accesses the CD for a while, then the name briefly appears in the taskbar and I get rebooted. I've updated my nVidia drivers to 5. 25 and my sblive drivers are current.

Flash 4 Crashing Win 2k...ALWAYS ...

Ok. . here is the problem that keeps happenning to me over and over. I have just done a fresh install of Win 2k. . . with just minimun drivers and still this crash occursa really bad blue-screen crash, which is rare for Win 2k.

SiN doesn't run full screen

I've just re-installed SiN and patched it up to 1. 05, and everything seemed fine. Then I ran the res upto 1600x1200 using the default Open GL driver and the game went into a window. I dropped it to 1024x768, and I got the same result.

Q3 Refresh Rate

When I am playing Q3 in Win 2000 I have a horriable refresh rate. I have tried changing the resolution of q3 to the same as my desktop hoping that it would use the same refresh rate as my desktop (100 Htz).

Falcon 4.0 anyone?

Anyone found a way to make Falcon 4. 0 work without a GLide compatible card (ie. Voodoo)? Perhaps somehow a method via a GLide Emulator or something? It sucks rebooting to 98 just to play a game. .

I'm a newbie at this 'puter stuff. I have W2000 and can't run NFS High Stakes. I read the fix but don't quite understand all the stuff. Like copy ImageCFG> exe and SetWin95. cmd from the NT 4. 0/NT5b2/Win2000b3RC1 CD.

Exiting to desktop and non autosaving

Alright i'm running VTM on win2k, and when I try to go from Prague to Vienna, the game unexplicably exits to desktop, no error, no crash, just click, desktop. ALso, the autosave will not write unless the sp0 dir does not exist, even if its empty the autosave wont write.

Aliens vs. Predator Gold compatibility problems with Win2k

Hi. . I have been having trouble with the mouse in Aliens vs. Predator Gold under windows 2000. The game works fine but the mouse buttons stick sometimes (it's not my mouse because it only does it for this game and also it does this same thing on my friend's computer).

quake2 and opengl

sorry if this question has been posed in the forum before. . i am not an avid gamer but quake2 was a classic for me and i did waste a lot of time in GX in my win98 days. quake2 installs properly. . but it will not run in open gl.

Oh dear. . . . . . . . . . For some reason known only to God and Gates Quake 2 will not install under Windows 2000. The message i get after clicking the installation prompt is that This version of Quake II will not install on to this language version of Win95/NT.

I noticed on the compatibility list, GF crashes a lot on Win2K. It does for me. Is there any way to bring that # down? The demo worked great. The release is a nightmare. .

Many thanks Frogmaster! Having completely failed to sort out the locale settings with Windows 2000 and Quake 2 i followed your advice and Quake 2 runs like an absolute beauty! I'd still like to know why that bloody error message came up, but anyway.
