Pauses?

I am having some wierd pauses in various games (starlancer, Tachyon: the fringe, thief 2 demo). The game will (at random points) just stop for several seconds. The last frame that was on screen remains there, and the last sound heard repeats several times.

Can anyone please help me??? I play quake2 a lot and i really want to keep my new W2K! Here is the problem! After some time playing Q2, W2K just shut down??? I don´t get any message at all. . . It just shut down! When it start up again, my ISDN modem is gone, and i have to reinstall it.

20% performance hit when I enable SMP in Quake3

I seems to get about 20% performance hit on Quake 3 Arena if I enable SMP mode. Shouldn't it increase the performance instead of decreasing it? My settings are 1024x768x16 (FSAA) on Nvidia Driver 5.

I have looked in various on-line resellers and local stores but none of them have this game in stock. It is either not there, or it is on backorder. Does anyone know of a online store that have this game in stock, so I can buy it? The demo is very nice, I really want this game!.

I have just changed out my motherboard from a Asus K7V w/750MHZ AMD to a Asus P3V4X w/600mhz Intel. Clean installs of W2K each time, same hardware. Has anyone had problems with installing games on the AMD platform.

Hallo! Also ich habe die Final (ISO) Kann es sein das Diablo 2 nur eine Auflösung von 640x480 zuläßt. Also das wäre ja nicht gerade gut den da ist die Grafik mehr wie schlecht. Wenn das der Fall ist und mann kann nichts ändern daran würde ich mir Diablo 2 nicht kaufen.

I am having the same problem as canonjon. Whenever i use the map or the menu my computer restarts. I am also running a TNT 2 ultra w/ the new drivers. I really don't want to downgrade my drivers. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall and change the colors to 16 bit but that didn't work.

I've been struggling to run several games on a new PC that's running W2K. I've installed the apcompat. exe utility but most apps. I try to run come back with the message: error: msvcrt. dll is not compatible with win32s.

Probably too new for anyone one to know much about, but I am having difficulty getting past the hardware test screen. During the test the screen blanks out, it checks the Cd-Rom drive, and then resets.

Matrox has currently nixed the idea of creating a turbogl patch for Win2K. Thus, Q3 won't run and proclaims an Open GL error. Any ideas? Is there a work-around? Would love to see the performance possiblity and stability of Win2K.
