Work in Progress: War of the Worlds - Setting DX5 version in

I've taken it upon myself to try to get the GT Interactive Game Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds working under NT4. The game, on standard NT4, complains about Direct X 5 is not installed on this computer, even when you use the Direct X 5 hack that's currently floating around.

I see under certain game descriptions listed at this site that you need the DirectX 5 patch for NT. Where can I get DirectX 5 for NT? -Adam.

The dx5nt4 is a rip from the NT5 aka WIN 2000. Why dx6 and dx7 have not appear yet? If they cannot be ripped from WIN2000, why is it so?.

Hello, Does anyone succeed in make Age Of Kings working on NT ? In the readme, it is stated that service pack 5 is required : I install it. But when I run the game, it says that DirectX6. 1a is required.

Q3 test & Savage 3d under NT : No go ?

I have a liitle problem: I have a (Hercules)Savage 3d Video card (I know, it's ****ty. . ) and I'm trying to run Quake 3 test 1. 08 under NT 4. 0. So, with the Newest (not to be confused with new) Hercules or S3 drivers I get a lockup on loading the map.

Quake3 with Win2k and Voodoo3

I have win2k and a voodoo3 2000. I have installed the voodoo3 card just as it says in a readme I found on this page. Quake3 starts and runs for about 20 seconds then throws me out and the gamma in windows gets very bright.

Q3 won't start under Win2K (Diamond FireGL1000Pro)

I just installed Win2K and the 1st thing I wanted to try was Q3. I installed it, but it won't start. It says Couldn't open ogl subsystem. . or some crap like this. I have a Fire GL1000Pro. I ran Q3 on NT4 with no prblems.

r_smp 1 in Quake3

alright. . . ran a few demos, worked fine. . . till I typed r_smp 1 at the console. Exited, re-entered the game, and it went to a gray screen at my desktop resolution, with the gamma jacked way up. Then it sits till I go to taskman and kill the q3 processes.

Freespace 2 demo won't let me play

I have installed the Freespace 2 demo under RC1. Eveytime I start it up, it says that the video settings need to be choosen. It autodetects the card just fine, but as soon as I click OK and try to click play, it says that I need to select a video mode.

I tried the new drivers and UT looks smoother than under w98. There are some little glitches. . PoP3D works, midtown madness But my favorite game driver gives a error on startup, plz help.

Hello, I'm new to gaming on NT so please don't laugh if some questions sound stupid Anyway, I tried to load delta force on NT and it just hung at a windowed screen. I have NT4 sp4, Dual P300, 256M RAM, and Tyan Tiger 100 mobo.

Any luck with NHL 2000 and Voodoo3?

I've been able to install NHL 2000 without errors, but when I try to run the 3D Configuration Utility, it never comes up. Running the game brings up a warning message that my video card wouldn't setup properly, so my settings are being switched to 'software' mode.

UT-Demo problems W2K!

Newbie needing help. I've just installed W2K RC2, and immediately tried the UT-demo. In Direct3D, the game will only run in a window, and OpenGL crashes the game completely. Does anyone know where to grab newer TNT2-drivers for W2K? - And howcome OpenGL won't work (even tried GLsetup, but that'll only run on W9X) M ...

runninng shock2. exe this message appears This product cannot be installed on windows nt due to a Microsoft Directx 6. 1 limitation I tried to modify all inside executable with SETWIN95 (setup. exe etc) but the same message appears everytime.

Rogue Spear, TNT2, RC2 Doesn't work. :(

I can't get Rogue Spear to work on my PC. I ran setup from DOS and when you open the icon I have an hourglass for 2 seconds and nothing happens. If you watch processes RogueSpear. exe starts and then stops.
