Refresh Rate with Voodoo 3 3000 AGP

After a fresh install of Windows 2000 Pro, my monitor is locked at 60 hz when I play games (in 1024x768). I used to have 85 hz. I use the 1. 01. 03 beta driver. Any ideas ?.

Generic volume preventing standby

Whenever I try to go into standby mode, I get an error saying the generic volume is preventing standby, update drivers. . . . . . . . . All I've been trying to achieve is to get my hard disks to spin down after x amount of time.

Windows NT 4.0 Server

When i'm in the installation of Windows NT 4. 0 Server, after awhile, the program says Setup cannot determine a hard disk in which to setup windows nt. in the MS-DOS part of the setup, you were supposed to select a hard disk to install to or something like that, well, i doesn't even ask you where you want to install.

I have a couple questions on the core of my fcpga Celemine 600. . . (at 900+ for a week now) The flip chip design I have heard cannot be lapped. . . . is this true? and I have the golden orb cooler. .

Enable Celeron 2 Cache?

The Cache on the Celemine is 128k, the other 128 is obviously disabled, or it would be way close to a p3. . . is there any way to enable that? I know it's on the chip just disabled. There HAS to be a way.

I've been attempting to get my usb Dazzle to work in win2k for awhile now- the software doesn't like win2k. Any Ideas guys? There doesn't seem to be any new updates for the drivers at the website. .

trouble with SP1

just installed service pack 1 and now i notice that win2k won't read my other drive. my system is NTFS and the other drive is fat32 (Maxtor 92041U4). it read it fine before. . . arghhh. anyway i'm a bit of a dullard so can anyone explain this, or if you're kind enough, solve my problem.

All my hard drives support it, and I am 98% sure my mobo does too. On the boot screen it says that SMART capability is disabled. Well, I've checked all the documentation on my mboard and have not found a way to enable it.

I 'm looking for somebody who managed to make pci 128 on asus P2b in windows 2000. I have some sound problem, and i don't manage to change the IRQ of this card (actually on IRQ 9 like my SCSI card, like my graphic card etc.

DirectDraw apps slower in Windows 2000?

I've been using Snes9x,among other windows based emulators (WGens, Dgen, System 16 emulator directx ver. . . . ) (with free roms, not illegal ones 🙂 ), and I've found out they perform awfully in windows 2000.

Works fine mostly, but when running Quake 3, when I hold multiple buttons down, it 'sticks' so I keep running in the same direction. Hitting esc halts it. I've gotten the newest drivers. Any ideas? Cheers.

Windows 2000 & Voodoo Banshee

I just installed the new voodoo banshee beta drivers and they have totally messed everything up. Every time I boot up the screen is a totally garbled display and it crashes every time. I have removed the drivers and installed the normal ones again, but it is still garbled.

ACPI -- good or bad??

Although this question has probably been asked, I'm curious about the pros/cons of ACPI. I've heard both good and bad from my friends, but I'm curious to hear what you all think. I turned it off the other day, and 2k went nuts redetecting all my hardware and stuff.

I have seven Dual and Quad Processor systems. After the install process of Windows 2000 Standard Server, when you are told to reboot, the system hangs. I have determined that if you remove the second processor and install it works ok.

I am building a new computer and am looking for some advice. I am getting an abit bp6 and 2 celemine 600's. I know that the abit board does not support fcpga due to the voltage problems. SOOOO I am getting the neo-s370.

After i upgraded to the latest liveware 3 that was just released, i've gotten all these weird sound problems with winamp 2. 61 and 2. 64. So i dont think it's winamps fault. What can i do? AC-3 Passthrou with SB Live! in W2K

I've wrote to Creative Labs about the unsupport of AC-3 pass in LW3 for W2K. They answer me that AC-3 will support in the next release of LW, the Live!Ware 4 for Win2K. They think that LW4 will available from september/october.
