I have 2 questions First one is i am looking too get a new system am would like some input as to what chip two buy the PIII or the Athlon. I have heard good and bad on the Athlon? and i don't want a P4.

I noticed that the 4. 1. 1 drivers can work with this cam and Win2k. I downloaded the drivers from this site and only have half success. After I say yes to the digital signature it fails saying: The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name.

TV Tuner card Advice needed.

Hey Guys, need some advice. I am interested in getting a TV Tuner card for my system. On Ebay I notice a lot of tuner cards by Hauppage (or something like that), connecting via a PCI slot. Does anyone have any experience with this card, and whether or not it works smoothly in Win2k? Thanks!.

I'm running Win2k 100% stable on my computer at home but when I go to a LAN-party or a friends house to play some games I get random crashes or BSODs, mostly KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED or just a reboot.

Hello, When I insert my Pinnacle PCTV card into my Abit KT7-RAID everything boots up fine, till I get the OSselectscreen. Then when I select win2k pro the computer hangs. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I have inserted the card in 3 different slots but that didn't help!!!!!!!1 Like A Prayer.

Win2k reboot problem.

Ok, I'm just having one problem with Windows 2000, albeit a fairly large problem. For some strange reason Windows 2000 decides to reboot itself at random times, usually after a few hours of operation.

I currently have a Dell Demension XPSt600r. The hardware consist of 600r chip,256sdram,27gig hd. Diamond Viper 32mb Vid Card. Ultra66 Controller,Hp 9100 Cdr. My problem is. . Some time ago I put windows 2k as a dual boot with windows9x and it ran great.

Dual processors, is it worth it?

I am thinking about getting a new computer, and I am considering waiting for AMD's 760mp board so I can run dual Athlons. I am also thinking about a dual PIII setup. What kind of perforamce increase could I expect to see, and what types of applications would benefit the most? I plan to run 2000 on it.

USR Modem Going way 2 slow!

ok i have a USR 3com Message Modem 56k External. in win2k it will read it, install it and connect to the ISP however it wont go beyond 500byte/s and webpages time out. this is the same problem in winME! i have tried win2k's own drivers as recommended by 3com, i have tried NT4 drivers and have tried 3coms win2k drivers.

Philips Acoustic Edge under win2k?

Anyone have experience with using the Philips Acoustic Edge successfully under win2k with a VIA KT133 chipset? I have to upgrade my sound card because my old vortex2 doesn't work at all with my new KT133 board and was thinking of the acoustic edge since all the reviews of it are so good.

weird Win2k Shutdown "problem"

Ok, yesterday I setup my computer with RAID setup using IBM 30 Gig and 45 gig HDs and I reinstalled my Win2k. So everything is fresh. Here is the problem: whenever I shutdown my computer, I get this Win2k message box saying It is now safe to shut down your computer instead of actually shutting down my computer.
