Profile of my system: windows 2000 advanced server running full array of MS Software(only MS) Soyo Motherboard Via chipset(k7via) on board audio Direct X 8. 0 AGP with Diamond viper II Z200 I have tried the memory swapping, closing services etc.

Disabling VIA Tech CPU to AGP Controller

HI. I have an Abit KT7A-RAID mobo, with a Geforce2 GTS by Leadtek. When I had Win2000, I did not install the Via's CPU to AGP Controller because once I did, every program that used my video card (tv tunner, games, opening mpeg and avi movies, etc) would cause an instant lockup as soon as I launched them.

Geforce3 driver update problem

I installed a fresh copy of WinXP on Saturday. The built-in 12. 40 drivers worked fine but I wanted to install the official 12. 41s. I downloaded and ran the Nvidia installer and rebooted and 12. 41 worked like a champ until I tried to reinstall 12.

PS/2 Sample Rate / Mouse Rate

Has anyone found a way to increase the sample rate of a PS/2 mouse in XP? This worked great under Win9x with PS2rate but I never had any luck getting this working in Win2k (using the Win2k-enabled version).

Windows XP not detecting ACPI compliant system

I was just wandering if anyone else ever experienced or heard of this problem. For some reason when doing a fresh installation of win xp it does not detect that my system is acpi compliant. I have to hit F5 during the start of the installation to tell it my computer is an acpi pc.

Diamond Fireport 40 SCSI card

Hi, I have a diamond scsi card. If i do a clean installation of RC1 or RC2, the driver of that card can't be installed, it kept saying that the driver is for win9x. Anyone have a solution? p. s. : I can only get it working by installing win2k first then upgrade the os to rc1 or rc2 thx, FatFish.

Win2k dialup acting weird after a few days uptime

ive noticed a weird coincidence with my dialup connection and windows 2000 that seems to happen after a couple days uptime. right now im at about 3 1/2 days, and my connection's IDENT no longer wants to work (like when connecting to irc, it never even shows getting or sending an ident reply).

WinTV Theater with only occasional sound- any tips ?

Just got myself the Hauppauge WinTV Theater (mod 498) PCI card. Works great except for the sound. The sound is sporadic, most of the time the wintv2000 and win32 apps start without any sound. Switching channels, swithing to fullscreen or mute/unmuteing a couple of times turns on the sound.

Windows 2000 and Windows 98 with 512 MB RAM

I just reinstalled a dual boot with Win2k and Win98, getting rid of a buggy WinME in the process. However, I noticed that when I boot Win98 and go to device manager, it says I have only 511. 0 MB RAM? I know I have 512 and WinME used to show this and Win2k shows my memory to be 512 but it is listed in KB.

3DFX and Remote Installation service. Ive got this problem. I cant start a remote installation of win2k if use a Voodoo 3. I have try with other card like TNT and ATi and no problem. Also, it work well with a PCI video card.
