Does anyone know if there is an application built into Windows 2000 server that would monitor connections made via telnet to a running telnet server? Im talking server side, not client side. If anyone has any info or maybe even a 3rd party solution, please let me know.

Outlook Express makes system very slow

Hi ! I've noticed from several weeks that Outlook Express is becoming slower and slower on my Win2k OS, i didn't have this problem with win9x. Indeed, as it try to access POP accounts , everything is bloqued during this time ! If someone is aware of this problem, i wouls be glad to know more about that.

Not really application specific, sorry. Thought I might get more of a response in this group tho. . Anyway, firstly my system cannot hibernate anymore? I used to be able to in RC1/2 IIRC, but cannot in 2195 (yes I have it enabled).

NTI CDMaker Pro in Windows 2000

Anyone know how to get this CDW-ROM writing utility to work in Windows 2000? I updated the ASPI drivers that was suggested elsewhere in this forum but I'm still having problems running it. It worked perfectly with Win95/98 so I know it must be Windows 2000.

I experience the lockup mostly when pictures are loading on IE5, full-screen movies (or some menus opening in menus), and in games. Homeworld will lock up every time I go into the build menu. Today I installed CD Copier Gamers Edition hoping to play my favourite game and rebooted an got an error Of course didnt boot in safe mode either second time this week to reinstall W2K This program doesnt even warn of incompatibility.

I know when looking up the compatible applications, it says to use SETWIN95. CMD on Setup. exe, and everything works fine. However, there's no further information. I'm trying to get 3DSMaxR2 installed but it punts me out saying I must have Windows 95, or Windows NT 4 to install.

Partition Magic Update Now Available but....

Well just as Powerquest said, the update is now available. The only problem is you MUST order a new cd to get this patch. The CD is free but you have to pay S&H on it (not to mention wait a couple more weeks to actually get it).

Win2k - ICQ & Netscape Problem

I recently installed Win2000 for a friend, which went fine. . . but I am having problems with both the latest build of ICQ99b (v3. 19 Build 2569) and Netscape v4. 72. Both programs run fine on my computer (running Win2k) but on his they both generate an error.

Last time I installed W2K I converted my drive to NTFS and then installed PC Anywhere 9. 0 and W2K refused to start even in safe mode I booted with a win98 boot disk and I could not access my NTFS drive and had to re partition loosing everything What I want to ask is if there is any program that can convert an NTFS ...

But I forgot to backup my other harddrive that still is ntfs and I can't access that drive now without formatting and the I would lose all my information but now I found a program that can access the ntfs partitition ...

I have just tried to install Borland C++ 4. 52 and couldnt get it to work. Are there any C/C++ compilers that do work ok (that are ideally old and/free!) with win2k? I know that Borland have a command line version that is free, but I'd rather have a GUI.

Dual boot help

Hi, I have my drive partitioned to C: D: E: F: where C is my boot partition , D is for win2k, E for win98 and F for data. recently I added a drive and it became D: and moved my win98 to F:, I can boot to w2k alright but when I choose to boot win98, it said it cannot find certain files in D: drive and refuse to boot 98.

Windows 95 client problems with Win2k

Hello, a while back i asked about setting up a server using Windows 2000 professional. Well basically everything is setup and running. I cannot figure out how to get the windows 95 client machines to automatically map a network directory (depending on the login) from the server upon login of a user.
