SAPPHIRE Vapor-X HD5750 Review

This time, in our test lab arrived Sapphire HD 5750 graphics card with custom cooling system already seen on several Vapor-X models. This cooling system is based on Vapor Chamber Technology that, basically, functions similar to heat pipe cooling systems. It consists of one “large” chamber with coolant liquid that evaporates when heated by, in this case, GPU, which is in direct contact with bottom chamber surface. The rest of the cooling system is consisted of slim metal fins and one fan. This solution is much better solution than referent ATI solution used on referent models. Vapor-X on Sapphire HD 5750 was almost silent during all our tests and never got over 55 degrees Celsius, which is great result. In closed enclosures, this temperature can go up to 65 degrees Celsius, but even that is great result…

What we're seeing from PC3-16000 kits these days is a huge range that caters for all budgets. There are some low latency kits that set you back a pretty penny, while there's also some other kits that carry with them more relaxed timings and a much more comfortable price point for many people.

We're not too sure where the Xtreme series from A-DATA sits, but that's exactly what we intend to find out today. On our next page we'll have a look at the package before having a closer look at the modules themselves. After that we'll have a look at the specifications, how we went with getting the default clocks and also see if we had any luck overclocking before we get stuck into the benchmarking and wrap it all up.

The VRM and X58 chipset cooling solutions are linked together with a heatpipe; I do not consider this a very good solution because, as we already know, the X58 chipset is very hot also, like the VRM, and when we overclock the system and they will transfer the heat from one to another. I would have preferred this board to have some bigger heatsinks, with one or two heatpipes between the VRM and the X58 chipset.

Today for review I've got a pair of new fans from Noctua, they're called the NF-P14 FLX fans. They're 140mm fans making them fairly large of course, these 140mm fans are special in that they have round frames. The round frames make the fan essentially smaller, or at least the frame is smaller. The mounting holes in the frame will fit where any 120mm fan will fit, thus the end user can easily replace a 120mm fan with a 140mm fan for even more cooling ability.
