HCW has reviewed the newest chipset from AMD 890GX as well as one of the first mATX motherboards to be equipped with it

AMD intends this to be a replacement for the 790GX chipset, but in more ways than one it is more similar to the 785G. That is a good thing of course, since the 785G sports solid performance and Blu-Ray hardware decoding.

They added a new Southbridge SB850 to replace the somew hat aging SB7=D70. It sports some new features such as SATA 6Gbps connectivity, but is conspicuously missing native USB 3.0 support.

Does the tiny MSI 890GXM-G65 have what it takes to justify its relatively high asking price compared to 785G boards?
