Your keyboard is one of the most used pieces of equipment on your desk. However, it’s also one of the most overlooked when piecing together a new build. You've just finished meticulously routing cables in your new battlestation and are basking in the subtle glow of RGB LEDs, but your setup is not ready yet. EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 Super XC Gaming Review

Competent, but feels pricey. Nvidia hopes the release of improved 'Super' GeForce RTX graphics cards will invigorate the premium end of the market. The RTX 2060, RTX 2070 and RTX 2080 all have had the Super treatment through a combination of more cores, higher frequencies and, for the RTX 2060, more memory.

The biggest jump in performance from last year's regular cards is available on the RTX 2070 Super. Comparing Founders Edition cards shows the new Super enjoys a 21 per cent bump in core power, more RT and Tensor cores, and still-decent bandwidth. The upshot is in-game performance that's 10-20 per cent better... all for the same money.

Orico USB 3.0 Hub Roundup Review

While many of us would just grab the cheapest off the shelf, not all USB 3.0 hubs are created equal. Orico has been designing and building PC peripherals for years, and one of their most recent releases is their lineup of USB 3.0 Hubs.

With both 4 and 7 port models in stick and round form factors, Orico is looking to cover as much of the market as possible with a budget-friendly solution that works. Model numbers for these units start with the 4-port F4U and 7 port F7U. The round form factor carries an H7U model number. All units use the same internal components with two VLI USB 3.0 controllers, a Micro B input and secondary USB input for additional power.

OWC Envoy Pro EX 1TB Portable SSD Review

OWC has long been a major player, and while they are known for their premium Apple upgrade solutions, they are often first to market with the latest in storage technology. Coming off the launch of their Envoy Pro EX with Thunderbolt 3 technology, OWC has redesigned Envoy to take full advantage of USB-C.

The Envoy Pro EX has a long lineage of solutions that started with USB 3.0 a few years back. More recently these solutions have been upgraded to offer Thunderbolt 3 with a black colorway, but the most recent release takes advantage of the original aluminum enclosure. This solution has been paired with an NVMe SSD offered in several capacities including 250 and 500GB along with 1 and 2TB. Performance is spec'd up to 980 MB/s using Gen 2 USB 3.1

Philips Hue Outdoor Review

When Philips Hue first announced its line of outdoor smart lighting back at CES 2018, I was immediately intrigued. I was on-hand for the demo in Las Vegas and saw an answer to a problem that has seemingly plagued my outdoor spaces for years. There are plenty of lighting solutions for gardens and outdoor areas but most are clunky and unrefined. Ive leaned on outdoor-grade smart plugs each Christmas for a while, but those lack the integrated dimming controls that are often best suited for landscape lighting.
The Philips Hue outdoor line arrived on the scene with an answer in-hand, and a hefty price tag to match. But what I found was a refined solution that met the needs of my burgeoning HomeKit setup while highlighting the unique architectural aspects of my home, which you can learn more about below.
