AMD adds RX 9050 support in Adrenalin Edition 26.7.1 driver release
AMD has released Adrenalin Edition 26.7.1, its latest graphics driver for Windows systems, and the headline news is support for the newly announced Radeon RX 9050 GPU. The release also addresses rendering instability in Blender and Cinema 4D on RDNA 3+ cards, fixes crashes with FSR Upscaling 4.1 on Windows 10, and tackles several Battlefield 6 issues timed around the game's launch window.
The driver builds (26.10.35.01 for Adrenalin, 32.0.31035.1003 for the Windows Driver Store) drop today, July 28, 2026. It's WHQL-certified and supports everything from the RX 5300 series up through the RX 9000 lineup, including the new RX 9050, RX 9070, and RX 9060 models.
New hardware and game support
The RX 9050 joins the RX 9070 and RX 9060 in AMD's next-generation RDNA 4 family. Full specifications haven't been released yet, but its inclusion in the driver suggests the card is either just announced or being enabled for public use. Given AMD's current lineup positioning, expect it to target the entry-level segment below the $299 RX 9060 XT.
Two new titles are also supported: Gears of War: E-Day Open Beta Early Access and Out of Control Evolution. Both have received driver certification, so you should see stable performance from day one.
Rendering fixes for creators
The most meaningful updates here target professional workflows. AMD is addressing persistent model flickering and rendering failures in Maxon Cinema 4D and Blender on RX 7000 series and newer hardware. Intermittent app crashes in Blender have also been resolved.
These fixes matter for creators. Blender and Cinema 4D are industry standards, and rendering bugs on RDNA 3+ hardware would undermine AMD's push into the workstation market. If you're using an RX 7000 series card for 3D work, this update should improve your experience considerably.
Battlefield 6 and FSR 4.1 issues
Multiple fixes and known issues point to this release being timed around Battlefield 6's launch. AMD has resolved intermittent crashes and driver timeouts on the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 platform, working directly with EA/DICE on the optimization. A UI bug showing FSR features as inactive in the Adrenalin dashboard during Battlefield 6 has also been fixed, though the features themselves were functional all along.
However, several Battlefield 6 problems remain. Texture flickering and corruption occur when using AMD Record and Stream, and AMD hasn't provided an ETA for a fix. The developer relationship is clearly active—the company says it's "actively working on resolution with developer" for the timeout issues, but content creators should hold off on recording until AMD addresses the corruption problem.
FSR Upscaling 4.1 receives its first official driver certification with this release. The update resolves intermittent crashes on RX 7000 series cards running Windows 10, though the fix appears Windows 10-only. AMD hasn't explained why Windows 11 users weren't affected.
Still broken
The known issues list includes a regression on Windows 10: Smart Access Memory disables itself after driver installation. You'll need to re-enable it manually in your BIOS or AMD software if you rely on the feature. The AI Bundle installation failure in regions with limited HuggingFace or GitHub access is also unresolved, which could affect users in certain international markets.
If you're running Windows 10 with an RX 7000 series card and haven't updated yet, this driver is worth installing. The FSR 4.1 stability fixes and rendering improvements address real pain points.
