Asus ROG Strix GL753VD Review

A 17.3in full-HD gaming laptop that won't break the bank. The gaming laptops that hog the headlines cost many thousands of pounds and have little difficulty tearing through the benchmarks. Trouble is, few of us are willing to spend such lavish amounts, so for all those who live life outside of enthusiast circles, how do the more affordable gaming laptops compare?

We have a couple of lower-cost units lined up for review, starting today with the Asus ROG Strix GL753VD. It's fair to say that Asus ROG isn't a brand you you normally associate with value for money, but at £1,100 the GL753VD is the cheapest 17.3in gaming laptop we've tested in quite some time.

Cooler Master MasterKeys PBT Keyboards Review

We took a look at Cooler Master’s MasterKeys Pro lineup of gaming keyboards about 3 months ago. These were the new generation of gaming keyboards from Cooler Master and we liked them quite a lot. We were wondering when the MasterKeys keyboards we saw at CES in January with the very unique keycaps were coming out, well today is the day. These new keyboards are of course the Cooler Master MasterKeys PBT Keyboards. The main difference between these keyboards and the ones in the MasterKeys Pro lineup is that they come with high-quality keycaps made of PBT plastic, rather than the traditional ABS plastic used in almost all keycaps on the market. This gives them a very unique feel and they are able to maintain their texture over a longer period of time. Today we have both the MasterKeys PBT S and MasterKeys PBT L decks, so let’s see what they can do!

DiRT 4 Benchmarked: 27 GPUs Tested

Codemasters' long-running rally game has returned for its twelfth lap, launching to largely positive reviews last Tuesday on PC, Xbox and PS4. Enermax Platimax D.F. 600W Power Supply Review

Only power helps in the long run! A sentence, which should be known in the car tuning scene, can also be used in the hardware area. It is true that manufacturers have been struggling to reduce the energy consumption of their products steadily for some years, but someone who has high performance gaming hardware, should know power consumption around 500 watts. More than a small plug-in power supply is necessary to guide our heroes in a safe and secure manner through the levels. It is necessary to ensure a stable, high-performance and above all safe power supply for the domestic PC. Companies like Enermax provide high-performance power supplies such as the Enermax Platimax D.F. 600 watts. Whether it can supply hungry hardware monsters safely with power and what if there are some finesses Enermax has still come up ... all this we now show in the test on OCinside.de.

Intel Announces X299, Skylake-X, and Kaby Lake-X Release Schedule: Pre-Orders June 19th, Availability June 26th

At Computex a couple of weeks ago, Intel announced its new Basin Falls platform, consisting of the X299 chipset with motherboards based on it, a pair of Kaby Lake-X processors, and a set of Skylake-X processors going all the way up to eighteen cores, denoting the first use of Intel’s enterprise level high core-count silicon in a consumer product. For the most part, we had assumed that the news was just that, and following traditional Intel strategy they would not officially give a launch date until the reviews go live sometime later. So imagine our surprise when Intel starts announcing dates at the E3 show this week.

MSI MORTAR B350M Review

The MORTAR is MSI's mATX motherboard featuring the B350 chipset. Despite the price difference, MSI still see fit to incorporate their various technologies including the Steel Armour of the primary PCIe slot, Audio Boost (which is the title for a selection of technologies including: physically isolated audio circuitry, acting like a dedicated sound card for your system, dedicated PCB for left/right channels, de-pop protection, the use of audio grade capacitors, and more), DDR4 Boost (providing your memory with clean/stable power).

Noise cancelling headphones: do not disturb

You've got quite a lot of choice these days if you're looking for a pair of headphones with active noise cancellation, in all types of shapes, sizes and price classes. We're discussing eight of them in this review.

Sometimes you just want to listen to your music without being disturbed or you might just want to have some silence around you, even though this is quite hard to achieve in practice. Think of busy environments such as public transport or the inside of an airplane.

Razer Kraken Pro V2 Gaming Headset Review

Recently Razer sent us the DeathAdder Elite gaming mouse to bang on and along with that, they included their Kraken Pro V2 gaming headset to check out as well. In case its not obvious, the V2 denotes that this is the second version, the first of which was launched back in 2013. That said, this is not to be confused with the similarly named Kraken 7.1 V2 which has a substantially different feature set as outlined in the graphic below, including a USB connection rather than the analog 3.5 mm plug the Pro V2 uses. While not quite as feature packed, it does offer a number of upgrades over the original Kraken Pro.

Surface Laptop review: Microsoft's best Surface ever

The Surface Laptop is a pricey solution to a problem that may not even exist. But it's still a marvelous PC you'll lust over.

Microsoft has been setting the bar for PCs and unique form factors for many years with its Surface hardware. That makes the Surface Laptop's existence stranger. Regardless, the company has created a luxurious PC Ultrabook that directly targets Apple's MacBook.

Is there really a need for a MacBook killer? Microsoft thinks so, but it may be bringing too little, too late. Its PC partners also seem to be taking on Apple just fine. I spent the last two weeks with the Surface Laptop, and while I'm a big fan, it may be a tough sell.

The Steam Machine: What Went Wrong

2012 was an important year for Valve. The company introduced Big Picture Mode - a Steam interface for the living room holy trinity of big TVs, joypads, and couches - it was also the year Gabe Newell's behemoth revealed the development of a video game console. A year later, Steam Machines were unveiled as "a powerful new category of living room hardware.

Thermaltake Core P1

When it comes to cases, even just from a few years ago things have changed drastically. RGB and Tempered Glass are extremely popular but it feels a little like everyone is moving forward only to keep making everything similar. For a while now though Thermaltake has been making something completely unique in their Core P series of cases. The Core P5 and the Core P3 are both extremely popular, especially in the water cooling crowds because of their open but unique design. So when the Core P1 was announced at CES I immediately reached out to check one out. The P3 and P5 are far too large and heavy for me but the P1, but an ITX case might be a little better. So for a while now I have been toying around with the Core P1 and today I’m going to talk about it.
