NVIDIA has released Game Ready Driver 616.56 for Windows 10 and 11, a WHQL-certified update optimized for the new STAR WARS Zero Company, along with Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Hell Let Loose: Vietnam. The patch resolves a critical issue in DOOM: The Dark Ages and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle where frame rates exceed V-SYNC when DLSS Frame Generation is set to 3x or higher. Users can also expect a fix for texture flicker in the Outer Worlds that appeared after updating to R595 or R610 drivers. Additional improvements include stability fixes for Chief Architect on RTX 4000 series cards and corrections for ASUS Armory Crate GameVisual profiles on R590 drivers.

NVIDIA Drops Game Ready Driver 616.56 with Support for STAR WARS Zero Company and Fixes for DOOM

NVIDIA has released GeForce Game Ready Driver 616.56 for Windows 10 and Windows 11. The WHQL-certified build hits the download center today, August 26, 2026. It brings optimization for three new games and patches a handful of bugs that have been nagging players.

If you're jumping into STAR WARS Zero Company, this is the driver you want. NVIDIA says it provides the best gaming experience for the title, along with DLSS and RTX technologies. The driver also tunes performance for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Hell Let Loose: Vietnam.

The fix list has some heavy hitters. NVIDIA addresses an issue in DOOM: The Dark Ages and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle where frame rates exceed V-SYNC limits when DLSS Frame Generation is set to 3x or higher. The bug, tracked as 6061475, could push framerates into territory that breaks the smoothness you're after. There's also a fix for texture flicker in the Outer Worlds. This one popped up after switching to R595 or R610 drivers. If your textures started looking like a mosaic, 616.56 should smooth things out. Bug 6238668 is closed.

General Bugs and Stability

The patch isn't just about gaming. NVIDIA resolved several general issues too. ASUS Armory Crate users on R590 drivers will finally see GameVisual color profiles apply correctly. Chief Architect was crashing on RTX 4000 series cards when using driver 610.47. That crash is gone in this update.

One odd fix involves Claude Desktop. The previous driver was incorrectly detecting the app as a 3D application. That misclassification is now resolved. NVIDIA also squashed a driver crash triggered by some instances of 32-bit DirectX 12 apps. Tycho Tracker users couldn't create OpenCL buffers over 2GB, and that limitation is lifted.

The installer weighs in at 984.3 MB. It's available in English (US). Keep in mind that WHQL certification means NVIDIA has run this through its Hardware Compatibility Lab for stability. You can install with less guesswork.
