I got it working using Microsofts Official Compatability Tool.
Ticking all the boxes allows the game to run.
Downloading the patch from the Sierra website also allows you to play further than the Eighth season, where it usually crashes.

I've done everything possible to solve compatibilty issues and doesn't solve them, even the compatibility software from Microsoft, I checked everything like you and well it just doesnt work still.
Has any at all solved this problem ? If not its time for an old school laptop here.

The way i got it working for xp was to boot up windows in safe mode, then the split screen problem was gone and the game ran perfectly. The only problem is that sound doesnt work but meh, i can live withouight the sound.

Hi, I just found my original cd of USM 98 and I'm playing it in Windows Seven without any compatibility requirement (I just need to adjust the screen colors to 16 bit)
Before that, with a copy downloaded from the internet of the same game, I justo could not play the game. :)

I followed the instructions here: http://usm98.webs.com/windows7fix.htm
But I ended up with the split screen issue too. What I did to fix it was have it set to "256color" on the Additional Compatibility mode selection box as the issue is with the resolution.
