Neowin reports that despite an official memo several weeks ago that tells the company to stop using the "Metro" brand for Windows 8 apps, Microsoft continues to use Metro in new online documents

Several weeks ago, Microsoft sent a statement to members of the media saying that the "Metro" branding to describe the user interface of Windows 8 and apps that run on that UI was a "code name." The statement added, "As we get closer to launch and transition from industry dialog to a broad consumer dialog we will use our commercial names.”

A few days after that statement was made, Microsoft reportedly sent out a memo to its employees, which said, "Anything currently/formerly known as a 'Metro-Style application' (with or without a hyphen) will now be known officially as a 'Windows 8 application.'"
