itthere a way to make windows 2000 see a second CPU w/ out reinstalling? I know under NT4 there was a utillity called uni to multi that would do it for you that came w/ the resource kit. .

How to set up dual boot?

Hi All, Win2K didn't set up dual boot by default because I had Win98 on another drive I guess. I can't seem to figure out how to get it to bring a dual boot menu up and let me choose Win98 on my other drive.

Hi, is it possible to install win98 *after* I already installed win2k? I need some features of win 98 but I don't want to give up win2k of course. Could I just throw in the win98 cd and install, or would it be impossible to boot back to win2k after that?.

You guys that have gotten your Cd burners and Rewritables working under Win2k, What software did you use and did you have to do anything to get it to work. I tied my CDR with Adaptec EZ CD 3. 5b, and 4.

I have a single processor system running NT 4. 0 and Win2000. I am planning on upgrading this computer to an SMP environment. Very simple question, will I need to reinstall the OS's just to switch to the SMP kernel? I thought I had remembered reading about something off the NT 4.

I do the following steps: - install win2k server - go to the device manger, and check the unknown scsi device - update driver, and select the right one (asc3550.

The Sims - Crash without any Message

I installed The Sims with no Problem under Windows 2K RC2. After a while of playing, it returns to my desktop without any message. When I look in the Event Viewer, there's the following Message: Error 7 \Device\Cdrom0 Bad block at XXXXXXXX What does this mean? Is the CD broken? I've got a CD-Rom and a DVD-ROM.

Memory Dump Blue Screen Problem!!

I have Win 2000 Ver 5. Build 2195 Every so often i get a blue screen that says there was a memory Dump. In the events viewer the following message is displayed: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.

Hi! I can't get the CD Writer to work with Nero. It only 'finds'the image writer. I use a Tekram DC390 adapter and use the 3. 2 drivers for it (they claim to be Win2k compatible). Does anyone know how to get Nero to find the device?.

Hi All, The Win2k help tells me to open up the sendto folder to put a program there; however, it won't show up and won't let me create and name one. Anyone know how to get to the sendto folder? Also How do I setup a win98 style system monitor to show cpu usage, memory etc? Thanks.

I have two drives from IBM, one with 15GB and one with 20GB. On both are W2k clean-installs (using the standard onboard ide-controller), but only the 15GB drive can boot on the UDMA66-controller (Abit BE6 Rev.

Hi All, I just installed Win2K on my dual P3 system. I am having a hard time verifying that Win2K is actually detecting and using the two processors. I found in system info that two identical processors are showing, is this it? Is there any other way to tell? Also, are there any tweaks or things I can do with SMP? ...

Any Matrox G400 users out there having any problems with GL in Win2K? I heard D3D works great, but GL games like Quake3 won't run. I'd REALLY like to make the move back to Win2K. I'm running Win98SE now after upgrading from the TnT2 to the G400.
