I recently installed win2k and this being my first time on an NT platform i have many questions. One of my biggest problems upto this point has been getting certain games to run. The one i am most concerned in rinning is Darkstone.

I cannot play any directx games under w2k, and I have installed the drivers posted here at ntgamepalace. I have also tried to install directx, but that doesn´t work at all. Does any have any good ideas? PS.

Forcing D3D in UT

Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to force UT to use d3d. It only detects glide. (I have a V3) But other games do recognize D3D compatibility. Thanks Mal.

Okay, I've seen a few hardware tests posted marked failure with this error as the comments on it. I've had this same error, and when I did a little checking here's what I found: I had a Happauge WinTV, a SB Live, a Diamond V550 TV-out, a 3com 905, and a Western Digital PCI Scsi adapter.

ATA66 HD that work with Win2k

Can anyone please tell me what are some ATA66 Hard drives that actually work with Windows 2000 and an Abit BP6? I have a Western Digital and it'll only work in ATA33 mode. Can anyone post what drives they have that work with this combo.

Incomplete boot with RC2

I just finished upgrading from RC1 to RC2. Installation was uneventful (except it couldnt find driver for old ISA scanner SCSI card) but now, every time I boot up I get a blank screen with nothing but the wallpaper and the mouse pointer.

When I run TB under NT 4. 0 (before and after install of DirectX to Win98) it says: Warning - Unable to create Direct Sound Object. Proceding with audio disabled How to solve this prob. It might be because i havent installed my sound card probably, but i dont know how to so I would like some help on that one too.

Problems with Hp 6020 Cd writer/reader in windows 2000 build

I have a Asus pc200 scsi card with a Hp 6020 scsi burner. . . . I have big problems when i have no cd in my burner, Then my browse screens hang, etc ( those screens when opening a file in winamp , etc etc ) and when i put a cd in it it works again, or when i disable my 6020 burner in device manager,.

I can not for the life of me get D3D to work in Win2000 RC1. I have OpenGL working but no D3D, I have all the AOpen drivers and the drivers for W2K posted on this site. but they dont work. I have also checked the Reg.

Just installed RC2. It seems to work really well. It automatically got my 3dfx card setup. However, no glide drivers are installed, no OpenGL games work, and I'm guessing that Direct3D is turned off.

I have a TNT, and Midtown madness has some pretty bad problems - lots of textures go missing, etc etc This is with the win2k tnt drivers (build 2031), and I installed 1. 88 w2k drivers from nvidia to get openGL going, and now I get a hard crash (cold boot required) about 10 seconds into a race.

HELP HELP HELP!! Dammit I just upgraded to duel celerons and a ABIT BP6 Mb. When I have win2k as a Standard PC it runs fine, however, if i set it to MPS Multiprocessor PC when ever i do anything with AVi's, Mpg's, Asf's.

When I installed Win2k, it didn't have a driver for a PCI Input device. Any clues to what this could be referring to. All the hardware I attached seems to be accounted for including the UDMA66 controller.
