At home I have a little LAN with a Desktop, Laptop, Hub and DSL Router running Win 2 Pro. My family has very similar network that I want to connect to (only difference; printers are connected via a print server).

Digital Camera Problems?

16-colors icons on 32bit desktop?

Hi I have Win2k pro I was running Quake 2 last night, which because I use a 3dfx V3-3000, crashed when I accidently pushed ALT-TAB. Well I started the game again and it ran fine. But when I came back to my desktop I found that all my icons where only in 16-colors (NOT 16bit).

what happens if you mix PC-133 & PC-100 on same system?

I am wondering what will happen if you have like P3-600EB (133 mhz CPU External Frequency) system w/ 128mb PC-133 and then you put in another 128mb of PC-100?

I have a DFI VIA MVP3 Board. I disabled in the Bios the UDMA. After I restart W2k, DMA works under W2000. It is not UDMA, it is only DMA2. I was surprised. I think that W2000 will not allowed that the Bios control the PC.

There is a certain problem i get when copying files over from my SCSI drive to my ata/66 drive. It seems to copy in bursts. By this i mean, it will copy a little bit, the system will pause for second (in which case i cannot do anything), then it will continue coppying.

Gday, I have installed Windows 2000 on my celeron 700 system with a BE6-2 (with the UDMA66 controller on board) I installed Win2k whilst my hard drives where connected to the normal IDE controllers (DMA 33) but since then i have bought a UDMA66 cable (i didnt have one before) and have tried connecting my hard drive ...

Hi, I installed porshe unleased and it was not working. it hanged @ the startup screen. Then i deleted gimme. dlll(stated in results) and it started working perfectly. Now, what is the purpose of gimme.

Hi. I am trying to install IAS, the drivers that allow games like Quake2 to use 3dsound. The installation program says checking DirectSound version and then says i need dx5 or newer. I have dx8 installed.

i got both NT4 and 98 on my PC, but 98 doesnt have enough free space to run TH2. i tried this setwin95. cmd i found on the net but i cant get it to work. does anybody know how to get TH2 to work on NT4? system= 600P3,128RAM.

A warning to any of you who may be in the market for a new NIC my favorite 3com NIC isn't supported in win2k. I learned this the hard way. I recently chose to move over to Win2k instead of WinME. . .

Btw, yes I do have DirectX8 loaded. I also have a Voodoo 5500 AGP, yet OpenGL will not work w/ Monkey Island 4. (?) I am forced to use D3D, and my cutscenes are very choppy. I am yet to find a succcessful fix.

I just installed Windows 2000 on my system, and it runs like a DREAM-Much more stable that 98SE/or ME. I installed the Microsoft Compatability Update + SP1 and 100% of my games are working. However, my cutscenes in Red Alert 2 are very choppy.

Hi all. I used to be on these foums a lot but have been away for some time, so maybe his Q is allready answered way back when, but here it goes! I have the final Trial version (build 2195)of Win2K Pro installed and so I have the system clock set back so it won't timeout.
