Hi. I am trying to install IAS, the drivers that allow games like Quake2 to use 3dsound.
The installation program says "checking DirectSound version" and then says i need dx5 or newer. I have dx8 installed. Could this be caused by the fact that DirectSound was merged with DirectMusic so there is no more DIrectSound exactly in DX8???
I found an old link to this site indicating a program that would make games running on NT4 think that DX6.1 was installed (registry manipulation?)
I can't find this program, and I think that it may fix my problem. Does anyone know where to find it, or how to fix my problem??? Thanks.
