Cannot Install XP, why? (boot error)

Ive installed 95,98,2000 probably 100's of times, but i cannot solve this problem with XP. IT installed fine for me on a couple of friends system (they're using basically the same system as me) There are two problems i'm having that i think are related.

System hangs on boot, unless I choose logged boot

My system is doing something very odd. If you boot normally, the blue bar only goes up half-way and disk activity stops. Just stays hung. If I press F8, then do a logged boot, it boots up fine. Any ideas? If not, is there a way to force it to automatically do logged boots?.

Hey guys, I'm running windows XP and It connects to a huge network of multiple workgroups that span a college campus. Of coarse, the network consists of many workgroups with a mixture of win9x/Me/2000/Xp machines.

Hi, i'm on an @Home network, and i recently bought a SMC Baracade Router SMC7004ABR. Both computers are connected to the internet, and can ping each other, but they can't see each other over Network Neighborhood and My Network Places.

Windows XP and 2000 network peace anyone?

Has anyone figured out how to get BOTH a windows 2000 Pro and a Windows XP pro to see each other on a LAN, let alone communicate? NONE OF THE TWO PCS can see each other to begin with. They are on the same workgroup, and when they where both win2k machines they worked without a hitch.

Dodgy right click on programs in XP

Hi all This is a weird one. . . I've just installed XP RC2 on my system, and I can no longer right click on 'all programs' to sort by name or access properties. In fact I can't do **** with right click on the program menu.

Hi. I use to have a WinTV pci card, and it worked fine in windows xp 2600. Now that I have installed my new WinTv PVR with the latest windows 2000 drivers (with the patch) my card still won't work! Anyone gotten theirs to work, or know where I could get some beta drivers? Thanks!.

They both installed normally for me on one machine. The other machine I went into the install folder and installed from there. I figure it was because of the Anti Virus program, is the reason I had to run it from install.

While trying to play StarCraft over network, my computers aren´t able to find each other. I´ve read somewhere, that the solution to this is disabling RAS and Routing. Where are the options to disable these settings? I´m not able to find them.
