I have a external cd burner and the only way to use it is if it's plugged into where the printer goes then plugging the printer into the back of the cd burner. I have tried unplugging the cd burner and plugging the printer in so I can use the printer but the computer wont even load windows when I do that.

I went to and tested my computer for xp (after I installed it hehe) and it says that my computer is sorta ready. It says that the bios date is not correct or something. Does that mean I need a new motherboard? I don't know how to upgrade a bios.

I can't install WinXP. Installation always stops to screen setup is inspecting your hardware configuration and jams. I've also tried to update my current WinMillenium, but the result is still same. I got same problem with every NT based OS such win2k, I cant install 'em either.

I've done a clean install of WinXP Pro on my system and have installed NFS Porsche Unleashed as well. The game ran perfectly under Win98SE and seems to be running just fine under XP as well save for one problem.

Please can you explain how to turn of the CD drives auto run on disk insertion feature? This was easy to find in Win98xx but not so in Win2K

I installed the new final powertoys and messed with the shortcut arrow option in tweakUI. I put it on None and since then my icons are only shown in 16 colors!! it's ugly!!!! I can't get it back to 16bits.

I continually get a BSOD in Win2K SP2 were a reference to 'wdmaud. sys' is made. Someone mentioned before on these boards that 'wdmaud. sys' refers to MMSYSTEM Wave/Midi API mapper Could i disable some Multimedia Devices in Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Devices to prevent these Blue Screens.

I know this is a minor problem, but it really tweaks the hell out of me. For some reason, I can no longer double click on a folder in the start menu, to open it in explorer. Nor can I right click and use open or explorer.

Well, as the title suggests, I'm running Wolfenstein test under NT4, but I'm having issues with sound. The problem is. . . . . no sound at all! I have a SBLive value LW3 isntalled. Sounds works great in everythign else, just not this game.
Cant get lan games to work on xp

Im have trouble here. I have 2 computers with Win ME and bought a new computer with Win xp on it for a total of 3. My Me comps play lan games together no problem but xp will not play. if i host the game on xp the other computers can see the game but hangs if i try to connect to it.

At irregular moments a popup appears and says that the floppydrive contains no disk and asks to put a disk in it. Any idea what this can be ? I use Windows2000 Professional - SP2 on a HP Vectra PII-350 - 128MB Ram thanks Jos.
