XP, RAM and swap file

Hello, I just finished upgrading my system including mobo, cpu and hd. After the finished setup XP automatically created 1536 mb or so. . . swap file on system disk. However since I have 1 gb of ram installed i disabled the swap file alltogether.

shouldnt nt4 workstation/server be in one category, then 2k/xp be in its own? I dunno, maybe just combine them all? It's tricky to navigate (not much actually relates specifically to one OS version).

in xp there are many undocumented utilities do a search for files with the extension msc when they are found click on them and they will execute different utility programs

Hi I have the strangest problem. When I play CS I use the arrows to control foreward/back, and strafe. If I am connected to RW og BC, I for some reason jump in CS. When I press a arrow-key the character moves, but it also jump the second I press the key.

Is there a program in XP that will allow me to see who is on my computer over the network? I remember in Win ME and 98 I guess for that matter, there was a program called Net Watcher that allowed me to see who was on my computer and what files they were looking at, and the amount of time they were on etc.

I´m looking for Adaptec ASPI drivers for W2k. The ones I found on the Adaptec site (ASPI32. EXE, version 4. 60) say they cause problems if installed with W2k. Any ideas where to get a W2k compatible Adaptec ASPI layer?.

My computer crashed (BSOD) during the game ghost recon, rebooted and gave me the message the system has recovered from a serious error (which is normal after a BSOD). But since then it keeps giving this error at every reboot, altho it didn't crash.

Hello!! I have installed Win XP pro on my PC. After I did this I got the same DVD playback problems as I had in Win 98/ME untill i checked on the DMA for my DVD player. After this it was smooth and nice:-) Now when I got XP the movies are choppy, and I wonder if there is a way to activate the DMA for my DVD player? ...

I know I'm not a lover of everything MS does, but the article on the main page is disturbing. Microsoft is being attacked, leaving no stone unturned, by people that feel Gates and Co are screwing everyone.
