Check out It allows you to setup up a host name and have it redirect to your ip address. It also has a program that checks your ip address and automatically updates your host name. For example, I registered ***.

I have Windows XP and I am using the same scanner and printer I used on my old computer that had Win. 98, here is my problem: When I try to use the scanner AFTER I did some printing, I get an error something like this: LPT-1 in being used by another device.

I have Windows XP that came on my Compaq, what I can't seem to do is get the look of Windows 98/95 when using Windows Explorer. What I want to see is all my drives: C:, A:, D:,and removable F:, plus My Documents which contains my photos, and downloads, etc.

Just done a fresh install of XP pro having had a few problems with my soundcard and MS FF joystick. Having installed the OS I check it everything worked okay, soundcard working okay, MS FF joystick running okay, but I got the dreaded NVidia loop problem with nv4_disp.

I got a network with 1 winxp computer and 1 win98 computer. I would like to give the win98 PC access to files on the winxp server. Is it possible to do that without enabling the guest access in winxp?.

A friend of mine has a DELL that, much to my cargin, she will not get rid of. The thing has an Intel board on it, with intel's onboard video card. Now she does a lot of video watching, and whenever she full-screens anything with the onboard card it gets blocky, obviously due to the on-board's crappiness.

Still Starship Troopers locks up with black borders top and bottom. I havent tried final fantasy 8, but I kinda doubt its fixed. Sorry to say it, but my die-hard trust in nvidia is beginning to soften.

Hi, I didn't do anything yesterday and today when I just turned on my computer, and click the my computer icon, suddenly the bar that has the File, Edit, View and etc is gone. Does anybody know what's wrong with it? Please help me out cause I just reinstall Win 2000 last week so I don't want to reinstall it.

The file uxtheme. dll is in the i386 dir on the windows xp cd but as uxtheme. dl_. I would like to replace it with a tweaked uxtheme. dll file. How do i make a dl_ file out o f dll? Is it possible to just replace it on the cd or will windows have problems installing? + how do ii make the cd bootable again after mod ...

Here's what I want to do. I have a few 20gig IBM drives. I have a KR7A-R baord with Highpoint RAID controller. I HAD raid setup on it previosly, but after some stupid mis-haps on my part, I ended up reformatting and going to one Standard drive.

I just upgraded my laptop hard drive and now have a 10GB IBM Travelstar Drive (DJSA-210) left over. instead of letting it gather dust on my shelf or go through the headaches of selling it on EBAY, I was wondering if it was possible to pick up a small firewire drive casing for this Travelstar.

I did a surface scan today on one of my old drives. it had 110 bad sectors @48% of the drive scanned. i will have to actually let it do a full scan one day and see how many it has.
ATI TV Wonder (new problem)

Since ATI hasn't released any drivers for Windows XP, I've been using their old 7. 1 set released for Win2k back in July. I've had to use the trick of changing color depth or bringing up a menu to get a non-garbled screen image, but otherwise the drivers seem to be alright for basic use.

Can't get this old Epson 1200U to work with WinXp. I have installed the Twain 4 driver and Scan 2 utility. Anyone have any ideas?.
