Hi guyz, my cousins buying a new ASUS A7V266-E and 1800+ Athlon XP. Currently he has a Athlon Thunderbird 850Mhz with a Abit KT7A Motherborad and also a Intel P3 500Mhz with a Gigabyte motherboard with dual bios(don't know model).

Does anyone know why the at. exe command to schedule task under nt4 or win2k does kill other windows apps runing. I want to use this at. exe command to synchronize my clock with the local timeserver but everytime at.

Morning all. I have a slight dilemma. I just recently started noticing a hang in the amount of time that it takes for a client to log into the domain. But when I go to check the PDC, all I see in the event viewer under the System Log is that The NTP server didn't respond.

Alt+Tab combo: can it be disabled in games?

I was wondering if the Windows alt+tab key combo can somehow be disabled while I play Counter-Strike? I use alt to move backwards, & sometimes hit tab to do a quick check to see how many enemies remain, only find to find myself staring at the desktop.

The new geforce4TI 4600 agp has agp 8x , sounds cool enough. But what motherboards support 8x? I just bought a brand new asus a7v266-e and it only says 4x ? wtf ? will any new bios's enable the 8x ?.

Is there anyone here got a problem installing Windows XP with Asus A7A133 Motherboard ?? I tried to install it couple times, it just freeze in the windows-LOGO. But when I install Win98SE on it, it has not problem at all.

Dear All, I'm running a GeForce 2 MX400 64MB AGP video card. When playing games such as the following examples, illumination really REALLY lacks making the games unplayable ins some parts of the maps because they are way to dark to see! Return To Castle Wolfenstein Quake III Half Life Half Life:Countersterstrike etc.

Via chipsets & 2k hiding drives in Bios

I can not hide either of my 2 hard drives in the bios because of M$'s incompatability with Via chipsets. I have 2k w/SP2 installed on a Fat32 partition using a Epox 8-KTA M/B. I have 2 bootable drives (or at least that is what I'm tring to have in 2k but not much sucess) and disabling the drive in the bios doesn't ...

I have Win 2000 pro installed with 3 computers networked. I installed Word on my son's computer while I was logged on as Admin. When he logs on with his userid, he cannot get at it. How do I make it so he can use Word on his PC? I am a complete idiot when it comes to Win 2000, so please give simple instructions.

Undeletable files in recycle bin

I've got a Win2k server; recycle bin indicates that there are files in it. However, when I open it, there are no files visible, no files marked as hidden files. When I empty recycle bin, it asks if I want to delete 29 files (although none show up).

I have no idea, how there was a weird folder came up in my desktop. There are around 15 new folders with weird-stupid-bad-name. Something like com1, com2, com3, lpt, prn. lazerjet. hp, ````an error folder```` etc.

With my incredible ability to constanly screw-up good things, I have now lost a good, close friend. . . . my IIS. I was foolin' around with Add/Remove Windows Components, like a dumba*s, and now my IIS has either went to lunch, resigned his position, or booked a flight to the Bahamas for some well deserved RnR.

Anyone know of any multilinking software that will allow linking two modems when an ISP doesn't support multilink, such as Midpoints that will work in XP? Or is there a way to add a second dialup adapter (such a vpn) in XP to allow Midpoint to work? This 28,800 is killing me.
