hey. . . i'm running a dual boot Win Me/XP on separate partitions. is defragmenting the xp partition from win me (norton speed disk) can be harmful ??. . . . i'm asking because the defragmentation process is SOOO much faster under win me.

I just wanted to start some mud flying. My OPINION is that Windows 2000 SP2 with IE6 and DirectX 8. 1 is the choice OS these days. uh uhmmm. . At least until Lindows OS is at 1. 1 or so. .

I just installed XP Pro on a Pentium 133 with 64MB of RAM (box minimum states Pentium II 233 with 128MB). It still boots to the login screen within 30 seconds but login takes forever. Most apps do not run very well but they work.

Dual 2k drives imaged w/ Ghost 2nd drive won't boot

I really don't know just how to explain this. I have 2 bootable drives with 2k on each. The second is a image of the first done using Ghost. I've done this before, but this time the drives are hooked up to a Highpoint controller which, I assume is causing the problem.

Weird DVD skipping problem

It's been happening for a while now, but whenever I watch a DVD, it'll play fine for about 5 minutes, and will then skip ahead 2-3 seconds. This then repeats throughout the entire film. While it doesn't seem like much, it can often mean missing an important part of dialog, and it can ruin the whole film.

I gotta tell you. I get so frustrated with poor AI nowadys. Renegade is just plain Horrible. Standing there while I shoot them. JK2 tho has great AI, cept for the StormTroopers which have been dumb since the first movie.

I installed the 28. 32 official NVidia drivers on my Windows XP Pro rig. I changed the gamma setting from 1. 00 to 1. 40 because my monitor is very old and I want to see whats going on, especially when gaming.

Wierd grey screen problem

I have been having this same problem on several different winXP boxes. To replicate I do the following. Reboot machine. Bring up the My Computer window Type a URL in to the adress bar and hit enter When this is done the entire screen goes grey and an untitled folder bar appears in the task bar.
