Ultra DMA

In device manager, my HDD is said to be in Ultra DMA mode 3 and my CD Rom is in Ultra DMA mode 1. These are both 1 UDMA mode below what they should be. Any ideas??.

Thanks to the great cash rebates Microsoft are currently doing on Office XP I decided to take the plunge and upgrade from Office 2000 to Office XP. So far I am liking it, some nice new features, and thankfully it's playing nice with everything else on my PC.

I have an intel pro dsl 2100 and a 3com 3c905tx. They are in a dual pIII600 mobo. There are no conflicts. I am running windows 2000 advanced server and windows xp pro. The xp pro machine has the nic and dsl card.

Problems w/ ZoneAlarm & 2-PC LAN

Have been running a 2 PC LAN thru a LinkSys Cable Router for about 6 months. More or less, everything seems stable. Would however like to reinstall the free download of ZoneAlarm on both PCs. Ran it independently on both systems before setting up the network; great program.

Hi all I just got an Audigy Soundcard and am already regreating my purchase First up System Specs: Windows XP Pro Geforce 2 Pro 512MB RAM Pentium 4 1. 7Ghz Audigy Platinum ex. In games if i select Hardware Mode for sound, i loose all sound in the game.

I have both a dialup account and cable. Is there a way to get my secondary network pc to access the internet via the dialup rather than the cable? On my main system I dial into my ISP but when I go to the other PC it wants to access the internet through the cable.

I was just wondering if I need to re-run the wizard to get the latest URLScan security in place. I have URLScan 2. 0 installed and configured and when I double-clicked on the new 2. 5 Update, it told me it udpated the software and it was successful, but I'm not sure if I should rerun the wizard.

Hi there, I did a clean install of WinXP Pro and Max Payne with the latest patch. Without activating the Win98 compatibility mode it took years to load. Also the buttons of my IntelliMouse Explorer USB were only regocnized after a second I pushed them.

Finally got this game and it rocks! Has a bit of a performace issue tho, has anyone tried it out? It stutters sometimes even at lower resoultions Even with the new update its not as smooth as I'd like Any tried it yet, and with what results?

Win2k Login Problem

Once i start my system up to the logon screen there is no problem. but after that it's only blue screen. System gets hang Not able to get into my Desktop. If i choose the Safe Mode option while login the system gets in without any trouble.

Has anyone tried it yet? That is, if you didn't mind downloading around 300MB. Is there anything else in there apart from drivers and the usual creative apps (like the recorder, surround mixer etc)??? I know I will hate myself for doing it, but I will download it (using my forever trusted 56K line).

Hi Does anyone have problems with the Asuscom 280st Passive ISDN USB modem? When plugged to the onboard Via USB controller it uses 80-90% resources (the mouse hardly moves). Has the latest drivers - no diff.
