I have been running 2k for 7 months now logged in as a administrator. I have read in other forums that for security reasons AND for performance reasons you shouldn't do this. The administartor function runs additional processes that the regular or power users don't need.

BDC can not find PDC in other network

Hi all, I have BDC in x. x. 160. 201 and PDC in x. x. 159. 11 BDC can not find PDC but they can ping each other and i use linux as router and there are NAT on linux box. I have try to use WINSserver or LMHOSTS but it doesn't work.

Anyone had any problems getting this to work? The software installs fine and some of the keys work (including the power on/off) but several rows of keys dont work at all. Win2k still shows it as a standard 101/102 keyboard so I'm thinking its a driver issue but perhaps the kb is just bad.

Hi, I tried to run EA Sports Superbike 2001 under Win2k, it plays the EA Sports intro and then returns to Windows. I heard that you can set compability mode for older games. But how? I haven't found any patch for this game yet.

Hi I have just upgraded a PC to 2000 and it has the HP 7200e external cd-writer attached to it. I found out that the installation disks no longer work, and it dumped the system files so I had to reformat.

it is a hradware prob but also softwre prob. microsoft blames the hardware (bios) but in fact it is XP that is at fault blocking 0x70 and 0x71. i am talking about event ID4, and 5. ACPI BIOS has attempted to read/write to protected memory sector 0x70 and or 0x71.

Power DVD used on Laptop causes blue screen

I have a Toshiba Tecra 8200 and am using Windows NT 4. 0 SP6a. I have a DVD player with it and have purchased Power DVD, but when I try to use it I get a blue-screen of death every time. It is an IRQL-equal-or-less-than error, and I can not find out what to fix, or a fix anywhere.
