ICS Troubles w/ ports

I've been having weird ICS troubles. . . I have it set up with my XP rig and my housemate's 98 box, and the 98 box is connected (because it can share files and see each other on the network,) but it looks like some sort of weird port problem is going down.

For Hardware/Games add ratings from different magazines? I say magazines instead of internet sites because they have been around the longest and have a rep. Computer Gaming World/PC Gamer/Maximum PC/Computer Games.

USB 2/Devices: How good are they?

Hi. After having my main PC in my room for quite awhile and putting up with the noise it generates, I had a thought about shoving it in another room and replacing all the devices that need access (CD, CD-RW, DVD, floppy) to USB ones and running a really long cable to my room where a USB hub would be.

Glitch in the graphic when moving Icon in WinXP

Hi ppl! When I move icons on my WinXP-system they look like they have been raped by an alien. =((( Look at the image below: Any1 know why it's like this? My spec: Asus K7V MOBO Amd Athlon 750 ASUS Geforce 1, V6800 Deluxe 768 Mb RAM and some other stufs that should not interfer with this.

I have recently installed the 29. 42s and have seen a couple wierd issues. Has anyone else out there seen this? Almost all of my games run fine, Spiderman doesn't run when double clicked on. The games that do run for some reason run really REALLY fast@!!!!!!! Here are some examples.

OK I got a problem which I guess is kinda related to the video card. See I downloaded a video card driver and I installed it. Then it ends up its the wrong one. I have a ATI 3D rage PRO AGP 2x. Then when restarted the computer it stops at the part when it says starting up and the bar stops like in the middle.

Gotta tell somebody. . . I just built an XP2100 system with 512 meg micron DDR on a K7Npro board for a customer. . . the whole thing moved like lightning on XP pro, they even opted for Office XP professional.

I have a small XP network. One of the PC's is a proxy server to a cable internet connection. When I click on one of network drives in My Network Places there is a long delay before displaying the drive.

I have been running 2k for 7 months now logged in as a administrator. I have read in other forums that for security reasons AND for performance reasons you shouldn't do this. The administartor function runs additional processes that the regular or power users don't need.

ASPI fix works great

Just changed from SCSI to IDE, and had uninstalled my SCSI controller and then my cd-rippers stopped working. (They would only recognize my Daemon Tool virtual cd-drive) Tried to install ASPI 4. 71 but no cigar, but then I find this and it works like a charm.

Ever since I downloaded and installed DirectX 8. 1b; 1. 75% of my game emulators stopped working correctly or at all. 2. 2 games have f^cked up anomalies. 3. Media player has full screen problems. What can I use to go back to 8.

Hello again!!!! Yep - you are all being so helpful that I've got another question I have a Live 5. 1 sound card in my system hooked up to a set of 5. 1 speakers. About every 3rd or 4th time XP restarts the sound only comes out of the front 2 left/right speakers.

RTCW on Windows 2000. No OpenGL?

I recently installed Windows 2000 on my 450 mhz pentium 3 w/ 256 megs of ram. The video card I am using is Nvidia RIVA TNT. Windows 2000 installed its own driver for it. I downloaded detonator driver for 2000/XP from Nvidia.

After encountering some problems with my os win2000, I decided to install win2000 over the top of the last. My problem is whenever I boot it is asking which operating system to start. How do I get rid of the first with the problems on it, that problem was to do with SCVHOST.
