Anyone have any facts relating on how WinXP stacks up against Win2k. I've heard many arguments for both OS's but can't find any constructive or tangible evidence to pursuade me to go with one or the other.

I can't get this old voodoo2 card to work. My system is windows 2000 professional ,my processor an AMD Duron (900mhz)and my mainboard a matsonic MS8308E (128 Mb 133 ). Windows can see the card, it appears in the device manager, but when I install the drivers (drivers for win2000) and then reboot, a message comes up ...

How to find all static IP addresses in use

How can I find all static IP addresses in use on Windows NT server? We have several printers and PCs with static addresses, but they are not in the Reservations list, and do not show up in the Active Leases because they don't use DHCP.

Hi all, I made the very stupid suggestion to a friend that i help build him a computer. It worked fine for 3 days and then started randomly rebooting itself. The reboot is accompanied by an audible click, as if a breaker is switching on the motherboard.

HI EVERYBODY, I cant understand the purpose of the nview?I have 1 monitor and a geforce1 SDR card and at the display properties says nview instead of geforce 256 ;( I dont want nview!The display adapter in the device manager shows 2 display adapters.

Okay. . here goes. I have just got a DSL connection with a DSL modem. I bought a Linksys 4-port Router so I can connect my computer and my new labtop together to share an internet connection. I have the DSL modem connected to the Router while having an ethernet cable connect to my ethernet port on my computer.

I have the MSI GeForce4 Ti4400 128MB card. I installed Windows XP Pro using Standard PC mode and IRQ 11 is used for my video card, no sharing. IRQ 5 is used for my SB Audigy, no sharing. IRQ 10 is used for my Promise ATA100 controller, again no sharing.

1. Looks like the installation is smooth and I did not experience any issues so far, on W2KS. 2. I read somewhere (with a screen shot) that talks about a change in the Control Panel, Add Remove programs that adds something called Set Program Access and Defaults, included in SP3.

I have an HP Pavilion Xt983 and a 540n. I was wondering if they could be overclocked. The XT983 has an HP Santa Fe mobo in it which I believe was made by that crappy Korean company, Trigem and has 5 visible jumpers on it.

Stable Voodoo3 3000 Win2k Drivers?

Anyone have this combo that found stable drivers? Specificially for Descent 3's 3dfxGlide. Or even XP? The drivers that came with 2k, Descent3 doesn't even register Glide. I have a LAN today, and I just wiped my 2k and XP clients and reverted back to 98se.

Freeze by resolution change?

Got a problem. Tried canning video and audio acceleration, tried ACT 1. 5, no dice. Had an HD problem, and restored my W2K install with Ghost. Now UT takes about 15-30 seconds to change screen resolution, and Age of Empires 2 (fresh install, latest patch) just plain goes black after the intro movies.
