help this is driving us nuts. We have two computers. the host is connected to broadband and to the other pc via ethernet cards. Both r running windows XP Pro. We have tried the set home network wizzard, dunt work.

What is windows 2000 stand with DOS games? I cannot get any to really work. I miss playing Abuse and MAME? Anyone have any pointers or should I config another machine to play such games? Thanks.

Hey, fresh install of win2k go right to SP3 (skip2) dont have sound card in the pc yet, get everything up and running first then after that power off and install the soundcard (or enable it in bios) reboot and: try and install any sound card.

I posted this on another forum, but nobody was able to help, so i'm trying my luck here. Using tweakUI under win2k, i checked the Prevent Applications from stealing focus setting. All progs obeyed this rule except Media Player 7.

Getting Sound in Dos Games

If anyone can lead me to a link or just help me in getting sound in old DOS games under Win2K. I'm trying to get old legacy drivers to load in the autoexec. NT and config. NT files but I have no clue if this will work.

Appropriate Disk and Registry ACLs on 2000 Pro ??

In an attempt to increase security I want to replace any ACL entries on my disks and registry hives from 'Everyone' to 'Authenticated Users'. However I'm sure this being windows. . . that this will have some nasty side affects.

For some reason, Direct3D doesn't want to work for me under. NET Server even after I've set Hardware Acceleration to full in the Advanced Properties for my card (a PCI Riva TNT running Detonator 40. 41).

Can anyone tell me this: I tried to upgrade from winme to win2000 pro. I have games on my system, but win2kpro said it can't run them. If I continue with the installation, and get all the service paks, will my games all work? Also, it told me I won't be able to use ms works 6.

Hey I have recently installed Windows 2000 professional on my computer along with Office 2000 Premium and have also put my Voodoo 3 2000 in the machine. The problem is that whenever i open or click anything, like the font menu, the computer hangs and then Word crashes.

I know this is a basic network question, but when I start my 2nd machine I get a the drive or network connection is unavailable message refering to a shortcut on the desktop to my 1st machine. It doesn't do it on the first machine.

I have a ME/XP Corp dual-boot. When I hibernate in XP, (Can't in ME, don't care, it sucks anyway) it automaticcaly boots up to it. Is there any way that when XP is hibernated, I can still boot to ME, and not delete the restoration data, so the next time I boot in XP, it comes off of Hibernate?.
