Hello all its nice to finally be a member. Ive just bought a Draytek Vigor 2200USB ADSL Router, my ADSL modem is connected to its USB port and my XP machine is connected to an Ethernet port. Im using its DHCP.

DNS, DHCP and RRAS

We upgraded our DC's from NT4 to Win2K. Everything seems to work. . . except for one little problem. Our RRAS is on one of the DC's, and when ever someone RAS's in, they get a DHCP address. This address is then picked up by DNS, and the DC is assigned that address.

Weird e-mail problem

I am running Windows 2000 with SP3 and have been having a weird issue with my e-mail. I can check my e-mail once and only once when my system first starts up. . . I can press send and receive over and over and it will check it fine but as soon as I leave Outlook express it stops working.

IE6...Mozilla...Sun JRE...MS VM... What a mess!!

Ever since I installed Sun JRE for Windows and the QuickTime 6 Java plugin. . my browsers (IE 6 & Mozilla 1. 1) have gone wonky. For a start I couldn't use the MS JM for sites that needed it (even after I disabled and uninstalled both plugins).

Every single person who reads this must go and play Battlefield 1942. Even though it's only the demo that's out, it is the best game I think I have ever played. The teamplay element, the graphics, sounds, and not to mention all the kool crap you can play with in the game.

Winrar 3 Is the fastest. I use it with Powerarchiver. I use Powerarchiver's. cab to compress since on average I get the highest compression with it's. cab. I use. rar to compress when. cab doesn't compress the files as much as.

The best way to back up

What is the best way to backup so that if i clean instal my os and put the backup in, the program or application in seperate patition will still work?. . . . My main partition is on drive c (where the windows 2000 advanced server is) and in drive d is where all my application.

Hai there, Can anybody tell what program i need to make a vcd with a movie together with the subtitle. . . i can run a movie with subtitle in BSPlayer but i can't save it. What i need is a program that can play this all and that i can save it and wright it with Nero.

Having problems installing this game on a fresh slipstream install of SP3. Installer runs and goes through setup. Reboot, but none of the game executables are copied the install directory, the other files appear to be there.

I tried to do a clean install of XP pro and I got to the blue setup screen and was given 2 F-key choices on the bottom and then it started installing the files which ended in an error, STOP : c0000221 unknown Hard Error \system\system32\ntdll.

making .ISO files with Nero

Can you do this? I can't find it in the options. I found the image writer driver and got it to create images OK but they seem to be in a Nero-specific format. If so, how do I make Nero make ISO files instead of it's preferred format?.
