Ok, I have the game Red Alert 2. I am running windows 2000, and so is my friend. Our problem is that when we go to network and enter the chat room, we can't see each other. We have narrowed the problem down to my pc.

I just got a DSL account with Verizon but I can't get the thing to work. When I type in ipconfig /all from the command prompt I get 0. 0. 0. 0 for an IP address. The DSL people think there is a problem with my NIC card, and so do Belkin(the NIC card maker), but I've already tried 2 different cards, and I'm a skepti ...

The new way of viewing the network computersn windows xp makes me sick. I would rather just have the computer name displayed like in windows 2k and all other versions of windows. Is there a way to change it back to this format? Thanks.

What I want to see is which users are logged on on a small LAN. The View Workkgroup computers only shows the PC's which would be good enough but I'd like to pipe the output (connected users and/or PC's) to a txt file as well, best case regularely updated w/o using scheduler.

Help me! I get these messages with allmost every game I try to play on 2k! And worse, nobody seems to get these messages. ;( I have installed sp3 hoping it would change something and the problem is still here and the sp added 300megs to my hd.

I Have this problem with MS Photoeditor, bundled with MS Office 2000 Prem. You see if i open a. jpg file or something, MS photoeditor is in the taskbar, except not on the screen, if i right click on the MS PhotoEd in the taskbar 'select' Maximise, then all is fine.

Does anybody know how it gets installed? I somehow manage to always get that thing. It should be illegal what they are doing. I never installed it or even saw it. . . . and all of a sudden Im surfing the web and a little ad pops up with the gator thing.

Unfortunately I'm still a dial-up user, my trusty External USR 56k modem is still doing its job. Was pretty nice to see that my modem is flash upgradeable to the new V92 standard and as my ISP has said V92 upgrades coming shortly I decided to go for it.
New P4T533 and P4 2.53 won't boot....Thanks to my GF3 ti500!

Hey guys. . . I just bought about a 1000 dollars worth of new stuff including a Asus P4T533, 2. 53 P4, 100gig 8MB cache hard drive, and 512MB of Samsung rimm4200. The problem is, I can boot all the way to the Windows XP screen with the little moving blue bar.
WinXP SP1 is out.... Final release...
