HELP! Computer reboots after installing new RAM

AHHH! I don't know much but I didn't think installing more RAM would be this frustrating. I purchased the exact same RAM as what I have but it makes my computer keep rebooting over and over again. I went into BIOS and it shows up so what's up?? Please help.

Try resetting your BIOS to "fail safe" defaults, then rebooting, and THEN tweaking from there.

OP
Sorry, not real computer literate when it come to the inner workings. How might I do that? I don't see any options in the BIOS STUP UTILITY to change to "fail safe".

See if there's anything relating to System Defaults, or BIOS/CMOS Default settings on the main screen of the BIOS utility. Failing that, you could always clear CMOS with the jumper (see your motherboard manual for the location and how to clear CMOS).

If that doesn't do the job, Google Memtest and download that. You can download it to be used on a floppy, or you can download an .ISO and burn that to CD (it's bootable, and quite handy for future troubleshooting). If you can run that for 12+ hours without any errors, the RAM is good. If not, test each stick at a time.
