Win2k Startup takes about a year...

When my Win2k Pro is starting up, I have to wait about 1-2 minutes for it to do nothing. It stops on the first graphical screen and just, kinda 'waits'. This problem began when i opened my comp yesterday, to move one of my hard drives.

Mirrored Drives - Broke Mirror - Now got problem

Hopefully someone can help me. We had our PDC at the office set up with two identical SCSI drives, set to software raid 0 (mirroring). Tonight I was going to upgrade to Windows 2000, and in preparation, I broke the mirror so we could keep the second drive as a backup in case anything went wrong.

i used the feature of tweak ui, to prevent applications from stealing focus. now i cannot disable it. the only thing i can change is the number of times the icon flashes in the taskbar but it is very annoying to click every window about ten times before they open again.

I changed the bitmap in ntoskrnl. exe in c:\winnt\system32 directory and I get an error when I start the computer, must the bitmap be 4 bit color? Or I'm I doin anything else wrong? TheMag.

Why is everything so slow on the network in NT 5. 0? I have a 10 station network with Advanced Server and 9 Pro stations. Str8 100Mbs Switches and 100Mbs NICs. Ever since NT 5 came along the network crawls.

Power Options shortcut magically changes on the quick launch

Put a short cut to power options on your quick launch bar in NT 5. Then keep an eye on it, peridically it will change. Have noticed this on 3 separate machines, SP1 doesn't help. .

Ok. About 7months Ago I bought a TNT2. . it ran great when i first bought it and my quake3 fps in 8x6 was about 27. which is pretty good for my k6-2-300. And Half-Life ran fairly smooth to. How do I get Explorer to remember to always show my files in list view? I turned off 'Remember every folder's view settings', and then selected List View, but now whenever I open explorer, it is back to the large icon view.

Hi ! When i have Win98 and a util like Tweak IT you can enable Plus Icons (not themes) (the Icons on Desktop and Folder Icons become better looking (but same sort of Icon). When i upgrade Win98 to 2000 this option is enabled in Win2k too.

Hello. I'm having a problem. . . I've installed WIN2K Pro, on my PC (PII 350, 6,4 GB, 64mb SDRAM, TNT, SB128PCI). I've formatted my HD with NTFS file system. But now I'm getting all types of error messages when trying to install anything.
