Sound Problems SB Live! and win2K

I get these wierd crackling sounds when i use my LIVE! SB in win 2k during gameplay. This only happens in games, like Quake 2 and outcast. . . . during weapons discharge. I have altec lansing ACS54 speakers, and the SB lIve!.

How do I force DMA or disable the Use Dma if available startup check ? There are no busmastering drivers available as yet Windows98 works fine with dma checked and with the udma drivers. Anyone help?.

Does anybody know why I can't change my irq in device manager? I can't uncheck automatic settings because it's greyed out. I want to change the irq of either my nic or my usb controller because both are on 10 and are causing problems.

Gaming setting, anyone?

I am wondering what services I can disable or alter in order to speed up when I need to play games, (i can always log on as some type of inhumane fragger, cool?!) BTW, I have only redirect my Telnet port to an unknown state and manually disabled this service, is there any way to turn it back-on remotely?!

OpenL and D3D TNT2 and 4 speaker with SBLive

I've just recieved Win2k and IT'S A BIG SH*T !!!! My TNT2 does not work in OpenGL and D3D and I can't have my 4 speaker with my SBLive : Win2k is the biggest SH@T I ever seen. F@ck Microsoft. F@ck Bill Gates.

MOst consumers are not like us. They dont knwo much about computers. and they do not know how good/powerful win2k is. Especially with articles liek taht 63,000 bug thing, I could belive the idiots that published that.

Problem with the Cretive Geforce256-card !

Hi, I have installed the latest Nvidia reference drivers 3. 76 - but after reboot the monitor just turns black and I can't do anything :-( Only the VGA-Drivers are working, but every other driver hangs up or gives an error message.

Sony USB CD-RW Problems

I have a Sony Spressa USB CD-RW drive. It functions fine in Win2k as a regulare CD-Rom drive but I need compatile Shuttle USB drivers. Does anyone else have this drive and have it burning CD's in Win2k?.

I know this maybe maybe out of the question but I get really tired of looking in my email for my password. Could it be possible maybe to set a cookie that remembers it forever? Or is there a reason that you guys have it that way.

ASPI Drivers and HP8100

I have a HP 8100 CDR and I can't get it to work because it says I have the wrong ASPI drivers or they aren't properly installed. Where can I get them? There is nothing at the HP web site. .

Monster 3D II / Voodoo 2

Well finally im gettin a little life out of my Monster 3D II. I have 2x Monster 3D II and that did not work with the new driver for Voodoo2. I evan tried the 3dfx MiniGL 1. 47 still nothing. . . I removed 1 of my Monsters and Voila I got a heartbeat.

monster sound 300 problems...

hello i have recently installed win2000, build 2195. . . everything seems to be going fine, except for my sound card. whenever a sound plays , it is accompanied by static. . . like a crackling sound.

I'm getting really desperate now. I spent 1 whole day trying to get windows 2000 to recognize my TNT and actually USE it. But everytime I get the error in the device manager This device cannot start.

Spontanious restarts and lock-ups VERY often.

Hi guys! Well, seems nobody has the same problems with win2k as I have. Every now and then the system totally dies on me (immediate restart or lock-up, approx. 2-3 times a day). Could happen when I'm in Win2k Help, downloading mails, pressing start button directly after boot-up, etc, etc.
