i read this today off of bluesnews. com Windows 2000 Update - Revisited The Windows 2000 compatibility update that was released last Friday (story) on Microsoft's Windows Update site, has been posted as a separate download (thanks Oleg Troyko).

Is there bug in win2k's dialup connection? Make a new connection (or edit old connection) and then choose dial-up connection properties-security and check that there is X in show terminal window. After that start IE5 and that ask you to start dialup connection, let IE call after while server will answer and connect ...

strange problems with nero

I have a strange problem when runnning nero under w2k. It is not the problem with the program BSODing but whenever i start burning a cd about halfway into the burnprocess the program crashes with an error something like nero.

TweakUI for Win2K??

Hi, I heard there was a version of TweakUI that works in Win2K. I tried the Win2K version from betabites and it was a no go. I get to the dialog that says this should be run from the control panel, yes or no.

IP Address in use error

I am on a college lan, i rebooted my computer, and I cant get on the network. We use DHCP (i think it is enabled) but I get errors now says Your computer has dected the ip address xxx. xxx. xxx. xxx for the network card xxxxxx is already in use on the network.

got fix for voodoo3 and powerstrip.

I wrote to entechtawain and told them my problem which was my computer would reboot when pstrip loaded. My comp reboots on any bsod so thats probobly what I was getting. Anyways I got a reply within like an hour and the guy told me to add this to pstrip.

VPN (Virtual Private Netowrking) w/ Win2k

Never used VPN before, but I see that windows 2000 has both VPN server and client built in. I have my box here setup as a server (i think), how do I get win98 machines to become clients as there is no built in client software? My web searches reveal only 3rd party software VPN clients which are not free or shareware.

All of a sudden, trying to run Nero gives me BSOD!!!!!

Wtf. . . I've been running Nero for a long time now without any problems, except a few coasters. But now, when I try to run nero, I get BSOD!!! And this is on Win2k final! I've uninstalled it, reinstalled it, uninstalled it and reinstalled it again.

Anyone knows how custom based PPD PostScript printer (not listed in w2k database) can be added in W2k? Adobe PS driver for NT don't install under w2k. .

I finally got norton anti-virus for windows 2000, everything worked fine for a while, but now when i startup my computer i get this stupid error message that says NAVNT autostart=SYMEVENT could not load (or something around that).
