I just got win2000 Pro in the mail free?

It looks like Microsoft sent me a copy of Windows 2000 Pro for no reason. The invoice says price - $0. 00 and on the box there is a sticker that says Promotional Sample. Is this a time limited version? I can't find anything that says so anywhere on the box or the manual.

I Updated Office 2000 with Service pack1 and now none of the applications work, they seem to start and then bomb out as soon as there main screen comes up!! Adaptec Easy CD-Creator 4.02 & Win2000

Hi, I purchased Adaptec Easy CD-Creator 4 on Friday last week. I removed Easy CD 3. 5c from my Win2000 installation, and then installed Easy CD 4. At the end of the installation, it automatically upgraded the version to 4.

Winamp takes a long time to change audio tracks

Hello, (I've used the search ) I have a weird Winamp problem. Whenever I change a cd-audio track in Win2k it takes ages for winamp to switch tracks. It's almost like inserting a new CD. I'm running Win2k final release, CEL400@450, 128mb, and Pioneer DR-A015.

plz help with this one: OK, after installing latest patch 3. 01 from adaptec and rebooted, win2k soon after loaded directcd. exe process they reboot. BUT if i quickly manage to end that process from task manger and the run DirectCd.

Asus Live 4.0 Beta 4 not working

I've downloaded a copy of Live 4. 0 Beta 4 (Asus 6600 Ultra Deluxe) and run it under Windows 2000 Advanced Server, but it didn't work. When I bring up Asus Live, the capture window kinda flash to the pink background for a second, then I get a gray background.

I dont know about others, but this is the biggest upset in win2k. No matter how many times i cleanformat and clean install, i eventaully get these erorrs. Today, I had 3 ftp prorgrams open, mirc, and left my computer for an hour , came back, and had the ntkernel bluescreen, causing me to reboot.

I just got an email telling me that BeOS has been released for free. I am looking to do a dual boot with Win98 and Be instead of Win98 and Win2k. I installed Win98 1st, then Win2k on another hard drive.

CRC errors with Zip archives

Hi, I know this isn't stricly a Win2K problem, but since I'm running Win2k. . . Anyhow, I downloaded a zip file that spans multiple volumes. When I try to extract the files from the Zip, I get the following message: Please insert disk number 1 of the spanned Zip file into drive C:.

Does anybody knows ao to put yamaha soft synthesizer s-yxg50 to work ,when trying to install it says only works on windows 95 or later , and why does de compability aplication than comes with win2k gives me and error saying msvcrt.

Win2k Phone dialer problems

If i use the win2k dialer it does not dial the way i set it to in the proerties. It dials only what i type and does not use the calling card infor that i put in. If i run the win98 dialer in win2k it works perfectly oh yeah outlook also has no prob dialing and using the long distance rules that i have set.

I have Win2k final currently instaled. I wanted to runa dual boot with win98 but it will not let me run setup. I get an error message that says I have a general protection fault error. Is it possible to instal Win98 when 2000 is already on my sys? Thanks!!.

Desktop icons lost color!

Hello, Couple of days ago i thought I would try WinLinux for a try. I already had Windows 98 Second Edition running and Windows 2000 Professional. Windows 98 Second Edition was running on the C:\ partition while Win2k was running on the E:\ (D:\ is MP3 drive).

I just installed Adaptex EZ Cd Creator 4. 0 Deluxe plus the 4. 02 update. . Now when I try to run Cd Copier it says: No Cd-Recorder found or supported or summin like that. . The program always had work.

DVD ripping with Windows 2000

Hi all. I´m running my Aopen 10x/40x (tray) DVD with Windows 2000 Pro. recently, I applied a region-free patch to move my drive from Region2-only to, well region-free. Everything worked smooth, DVD-playback is the same as before.
