Running autoexec.bat?

Is there any way to get windows to run a batch file on boot-up like win9x used to do with autoexec. bat? I need the file to be run before windows is loaded. .

VM-Ware for Win2k rocks

I just finished installing a couple of OS's under VMware, on Win2k. This is so much better for experimenting with different OS's than the dual-boot, multi partition option. Now I've got a month to get the money together to register the evaluation version.

CD-R problems

I have a problem with NTI CD Maker Pro 3. Even after installing the newest ASPI drivers like others suggested, I can't get this program to run properly under Windows 2000. I've used the ASPI driver check and it shows that they are indeed in the right directories as well.

Got a boot problem...

Hey heres what I did. I reinstalled winMe on my c drive but I did this by formatting c and reinstalling. And win2k is on d. I tried booting off the cd and hitting repair but it couldnt locate the win2k installation.

Something very similar happened to me..

When you cannot install or have problems installing software: When I tried to install Adaptec drivers for the cd-r, it was zeroing the size of the new files, and when I reboot, BSOD. Reason the crappy file protection, how to disable ? Here goes, open regedit search for this Windows Registry Editor Version 5.

Installed Nero5, burned CD, cdrom drives disappeared....?

I installed Win2kpro on an abit bp6, 2 HDs, 1 CL 6424 ide burner, and 1 pioneer DVD 104s. I had all this running perfectly for a couple days. I installed adaptec easy cd creator deluxe 4. 02 and it did not work at all (?) so I removed it and installed Nero 5.

win98 problems

my father in a moment of stupidity decided to reinstall win2k, without knowing what he was doing, and thus converted the c drive to ntfs! from then on win98 obviously would not work. . . anyhow i then tried to install win98 again by booting into dos with a boot disk but errors started occurring since i could not ge ...

Really odd. Upto last week I was able to use Direct3d in Win2k. Went to play everqeust and it goes no direct3d devices available. !! Loaded dxdiag and lo and behold both direct3d and agp are greyed out and disabled.

This is becoming a pain in the ass: Application popup: svchost. exe - Application Error : The instruction at 0x77d4fb7d referenced memory at 0x00000001. The memory could not be written. IE5 does it too.

Is SP1 for w2k worth all the hassle?

After downloading every single patch, fix and update for windows 2000. WIll it be worth installing the service pack? w2k is probably as stable as it's ever going to get. Lets face it, Most of the problems are not with flawed library files, but rather flawed code within the OS.

How to make Bootup Disk ??

Hi: ia m using Win 2000 Pro version. I have a question that, how can i make a bootup disk (like the old day in win98) so i can boot into dos when the PC start up. Also i am using NTFS, so if i use the old win98 boot up disk, i am unable to read all my Hard Drive.

Windows 2000 Pro cannot install SPSS 9.0

I'm using Windows 2000 Pro. I cannot install SPSS ver 9. 0 which is a statistical package. I get the message stating that the hard disk is full when the installation is at around 83% of its way. My PC has heaps of available space.
