Acer Predator Helios 300 review: A well-rounded gaming laptop at a great price

With the monstrous Predator 21 X and sleek Predator Triton 700, Acer staked a compelling claim on the high-end market, loading its notebooks with extravagant features and the most powerful portable gaming hardware available. The Acer Predator Helios 300 doesn’t concern itself with fanciful bells and whistles. It’s a straightforward, no-nonsense gaming laptop that delivers a refreshing amount of bang for your buck, starting at $1,100 on Amazon with a Core i7-7700HQ processor and a GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card.

AOC I1601FWUX Review

When it comes to working on the go, a laptop, tablet, or even a smartphone are most likely the preferred options. Now, if you own a laptop and are someone that does a lot of multi-tasking, you'll know that no matter how large the screen, it just isn't enough space. That's where a secondary display can come in handy. This is something that you might use in a stationary location but bringing a monitor with you while on the go, this idea might not even have crossed your mind. That's where the AOC I1601FWUX might come in handy, as it is a portable monitor that doesn't require a separate power source, instead, being powered directly from a USB Type-C port on a supported device.

Arozzi Inizio Gaming Chair Review

For people on a tight budget looking to get their hands on a cost-effective gaming chair covered in breathable fabric and featuring an adjustable backrest the brand new Inizio model by Arozzi could be a one way.

Although the PC gaming community dates as far back as the late 80's / early 90's it took nearly two full decades for gamers to witness and enjoy the big bang in the gaming peripherals market. What really stands out however is the just how fast gaming chairs have managed to climb in both popularity and sales compared to pretty much every other gaming peripheral out there (especially if you take into account their comparably higher prices). That being said it's quite understandable that every single person that spends countless hours in front of a screen would be interested in getting a good gaming chair (and yes not just gamers) so both their popularity and sales numbers do make sense. Arozzi is one of the leading gaming chair manufacturers in the EU (perhaps even the world) and today we'll be trying out their latest Inizio Gaming Chair.

Best Laptops Under $600 in 2018

These affordable options are still very capable devices.

Buying a new laptop is a big decision. Sure, you'll likely be safe going with a high-profile device, but prices don't always agree with your wallet. If you have about $600 to spend on new hardware, I've rounded up some of the best laptops you can find in that range.

Dell XPS 15 2-In-1 Review: An Ultra-Powerful, Premium Convertible Laptop

At CES earlier this year, Dell strutted out a few new products, including its XPS 15 2-in-1 with a 360-degree hinge. It is the first XPS 15 to adopt the convertible 2-in-1 form factor, providing customers with flexible use case scenarios, like folding the display all the way back onto itself to become a tablet, or propping it up in tent mode as a kitchen counter companion. While not groundbreaking in 2018, it's a welcome upgrade to one of the more desirable and premium laptops on the market. What is groundbreaking, however, is what lies inside this laptop in terms of processing engines.

Firefox 57-59 & Noscript 10 usage guide - 2nd edition

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, there's Noscript. 2 Unlimited sang this back in the early 90s. And now, I've compiled the second guide on how to manage and use Noscript Security Suite 10, the new WebExtension for Firefox 57 (Quantum) and higher, including new looks and capabilities, separate temporarily allow functionality, domain granularity control, better XSS, configuration import and export, other settings and features, and more. Enjoy.

GAMDIAS ASTRAPE P1-750G 750W Power Supply Review

If an RGB power supply is key to your build, then the ASTRAPE P1-750G 750W is an option. However, I think GAMDIAS has several points of refinement to address before I would dive fully into this power supply.

When I was growing up, I played the piano, although I was terrible at it and put in little effort to improve. In school, I learned the trombone and the trumpet through the band program, which I think I was a bit more successful at. However, I also picked up a few instruments on my own, including the electric bass, the ukulele, and the cello. I have been asked several times in the past about the instruments I started with and often I do not have a very good answer. For the electric bass, this was something my dad played before my time and he wanted me to try it out. I am no expert at it, but I enjoy jamming along. As for the ukulele, it was an instrument I wanted to learn since elementary, but for some reason it was skipped in our school curriculum. I really wanted to learn it, so I taught myself over the winter break when I had my wisdom teeth extracted. Once again, there are a lot of things I know I can learn with both of my current instruments, but it was more important for me to take the first step to try something new. It seems GAMDIAS has followed this advice, as today we can see them getting into power supplies for the first time. Following CES 2018, where they announced quite a few products that were not peripherals, they have finally made good on their new venture, releasing the ASTRAPE P1-750G 750W as part of their power supply lineup. These units are not the easiest market to dive into, so let us see how they do in today's report!

HP EX920 M.2 NVMe SSD Review (1TB)

High performance, low power, increased system responsiveness, high reliability, small form factor, minimum weight, enhanced ruggedness along with high data integrity and security; these are the selling points made by HP with respect to their newest HP EX920 M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSD. As much as this description might fit any of the latest gen M.2 SSD family, HP has built a product that we believe is going to do very well in the SSD industry, a product that very well might raise more than a few eyebrows.

The HP SSD EX920 M.2 SSD is a PCIe Gen 3 x 4 2280 (80mm) form factor NVMe SSD compatible with the latest NVMe 1.3 protocol. It will be available in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB capacity points, and throughput is rated at 3200MB/s read and 1800MB/s write, the write performance dropping back to 1600MB/s for the 512GB and 1200MB/s for the 256GB storage point. IOPS is rated at 350K/250K read and write for the 1TB model which again is a bit lower for the lesser capacities.

HP Z34c, LG 34UC99, Philips 349X7FJEW, Samsung C34F791 review: four times ultrawide

Wide is beautiful - that is, according to the enthusiasts. To be clear: we are talking about monitors in the so-called ultrawide category. We already received quite a few requests to test the Samsung C34F791 and our readings asked the same question for the Philips 349X7FJEW. Today cater to those people and also cover two other interestings, very comparable models: the HP Z34c and the LG 34UC99.

Although Samsung very recently made a statement with the C49HG90 that 32:9 is also a valid screen ratio, with ultrawide we still talk about 21:9 or - hello purists - 43:18 ratio of models with a resolution of 2560x1080 or even better, as is the case with the monitors that we are talking about here, 3440x1440 pixels. In the latter case these are usually distributed across a surface with a diagonal area of 34 or 35 inch, depending on the origin of the used panel.

MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon AC motherboard leaked

This motherboard will be available in two variants (with onboard WiFi AC and without it). Let's start with changes from X370. Apart from the design makeover and much fancier shrouds, the X470 version has actual heatsinks over VRM. The current is delivered through two 8-pin EPS connectors (the X370 only had one). The X470 Carbon Pro AC lost one PCIe x1 slot, but it gained two additional SATA ports (in total there are 8).

Samsung HMD Odyssey Windows Mixed Reality Headset Review

Samsung’s Odyssey HMD is the Cadillac of Windows Mixed Reality headsets. If you’re looking for a high-end MR option, this option is our favorite--even at its high price.

Samsung was late joining the Windows Mixed Reality party, but when it finally stopped by, it showed up with the fanciest toys. Samsung's Odyssey HMD is, in some ways, the Cadillac of Windows Mixed Reality headsets. It boasts a higher resolution than other Windows MR HMDs, and it includes built-in headphones that are tuned for 3D audio. It also features moisture-proof leather cushions, and to top it off Samsung redesigned Microsoft's controllers with more thought for ergonomics. If you’re looking for a high-end Windows Mixed Reality headset, the only metric where the Odyssey doesn’t compete well is the price.

Supermicro X11DAi-N Server Motherboard Review

Today we are going to take a look at a dual processor server motherboard from Supermicro, which is one of the best-known vendors for top of the line enterprise motherboards. The new motherboard uses the C621 chipset, which is rated at a hefty 15W TPU and looks much different than Intel's consumer chipset.

Intel's new Skylake-SP parts that go into this motherboard are referred to as Intel Xeon Scalable processors so that vendors can easily scale and increase feature count. The C621 chipset is an entry-level chipset for this new platform, but it has much than what we need for a dual processor system.

VTech VM2251 Video Baby Monitor review: A best friend for new parents

The in-home baby camera includes a temperature monitor, automatic night vision, and a sound-activated screen. At its core, a baby monitor serves one function: to let you remotely listen to—and in the case of modern models, see—your infant or toddler in another room, so you can ensure their comfort and safety. VTech seems intent on making sure parents are armed with an array of tools to do that, offering monitors that do everything from play lullabies to send video streams directly to your phone. The VM2251 is one of its latest, a camera that includes advanced features such as room-temperature monitoring and a sound-activated display. It's available in single- ($79.95) and two-camera ($99.95) packages.

ZOTAC MEK1 Gaming PC (GTX 1070 Ti) Review

ZOTAC looks to dominate the gaming PC space with their MEK1. This mini-ITX based small form factor system packs a hell of a punch. Cramming an Intel i7 7700 and Nvidia Geforce 1070 Ti into an RGB-illuminated package, it even comes bundled with a mechanical keyboard and gaming-centric mouse.
