2nd Gen Ryzen Tech Briefing + Demo In Bangkok

On 27 March 2017, AMD organised an exclusive 2nd Gen Ryzen tech briefing and demo session in Bangkok. Space was extremely limited, so we are most fortunate to attend.

Don’t worry though – we recorded everything, so you can see for yourselves what went on during the 2nd Gen Ryzen tech briefing and demo in Bangkok! ENJOY!

ADATA Premier Memory Cards

We have followed ADATA for years, and in that time their storage portfolio has grown immensely. Part of this growth has come in the memory card department, today we have two of their newest solutions in-house.

The Premier brand has been at the heart of ADATA'S memory card lineup for years. Within this portfolio, there are several models including Premier, Premier Pro and Premier One. For this review, ADATA sent over there latest Premier 128GB microSD solution which offers mainstream performance of 85 MB/s read and ~20MB/s write while carrying UHS-I, Class 10 and V10 ratings. This lineup comes in 16, 32, 64 and 128GB capacity options. The second card that was sent over to us for review comes from the Premier One SD lineup. This solution is a UHS-II memory card capable of 290 MB/s read and 260 MB/s write while carrying the U3, UHS-II, Class 10 and V90 ratings and offering capacities of 64, 128 and 256GB.

Corsair H60 120mm AIO Liquid CPU Cooler Review

Corsair is one of the best-known brands when it comes to PC parts and peripherals. From keyboards to coolers there’s very little they don’t have a hand in. While their Hydro series has been around for quite some time, Corsair has steadily over the years been releasing new products in the line finding improvements as and where they can.

When it comes to AIO coolers though, consumers can have a hard time. Often less-expensive (or let’s call a spade a spade here, cheap) AIO coolers can be as loud as air coolers. In addition, the performance figures are often no better if worse. The only real selling point they have is that they generally tend to look tidier in system builds and can take up (depending on your radiator size) a lot less room.

Corsair K95 RGB Platinum Review

Corsair has long been the company to beat in the world of RGB mechanical gaming keyboards. With the K95 RGB Platinum, they present their flagship: an oversize, fully-programmable, light show of a board with the kind of rapid response competitive gamers crave. But for $199, it’s a steep asking price. Is it worth such a high MSRP? Let’s find out.

The K95 RGB Platinum comes in nice packaging in the standard Corsair black and yellow. We have a nice profile shot of the keyboard on the front and the features highlighted on the back. It’s also one of the few cases where the marketing shots really undersell the keyboard. It looks much better in person, especially in low light.

Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer RGB 4×8 GB 3000 MHz DDR4 Review

Crucial have been building memory kits for more than 35 years, so it’s safe to say they know a trick or two when it comes to making a great memory kit. Equipped with four 8 GB DIMMs, our review kit offers up 32 GB of memory, although 16 GB sets will also be available. Running at 3000 MHz on their default XMP profile, with very nice 16-18-18 timings, they should run quick. Of course, they should easily overclock too, thanks to their metal heat spreaders.

Backed up by a lifetime warranty, and offerings RGB support for ASUS Aura, MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte AORUS and more, it’s certainly ticking all the right boxes, so let’s take a closer look at what else is on offer!

Dune HD PRO 4K Premium Compact Media Player Review

The PRO 4K is the 2nd top model in the brand new family of Android OS based hardware media players by Dune HD which thanks to its Realtek RTD1295 Quad-Core SoC and 2GB RAM can handle anything you throw at it even H.265 10-bit 4Kp60 HDR content with bitrate exceeding 100 Mbit/s.

Ever since i got my first really large TV back in 2007 (55" SONY 3DLP model) and started watching Full HD 1080p content I’ve tried my best to keep up with everything related to hardware media players including all the chips used and of course their capabilities. Unfortunately things haven't been that good in that segment of the industry and so over the years we've seen many manufacturers come and go with OPPO Digital one of the world's premium hardware media player manufacturers being the latest addition to that list. OPPO Digital was one of the top two picks for enthusiasts so news of their leaving the hardware media player market were sudden to say the least but luckily enough Dune HD is not going anywhere and so if you're out in the market for one you should really check their latest PRO 4K model which sat in our lab for roughly 15 days.

Flickr Has Been Purchased by SmugMug

Independent photo-sharing website and image-hosting service SmugMug is the proud new owner of Flickr. According to CEO Don MacAskill, the website had been long neglected by its previous proprietor, Yahoo, and his goal is to revitalize its community of amateur and professional photographers.

The surprise deal ends months of uncertainty for Flickr, whose fate had been up in the air since last year when Yahoo was bought by Verizon for $4.5 billion and joined with AOL in Verizon's Oath subsidiary. Oath has started to weed out some of its assets after merging AOL and Yahoo. Earlier this month, Oath sold Polyvore, the e-commerce company it acquired under Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer.

The Ryzen 7 2700X and Ryzen 5 2600X Review: Zen Matures

Despite what might be considered an overall slump in enthusiast PC building due to record low GPU availability and sky-high memory prices, 2017 was one of the most exciting and competitive years in recent history when it comes to CPU innovation. On the desktop side alone, we saw the launch of AMD's new Zen CPU architecture with the Ryzen 1000 series of parts starting last March; we also saw new HEDT platforms from both Intel and AMD, and Intel's first 6-core mainstream CPUs.

Although the timeline doesn't quite work out for Ryzen to have affected the engineering-side of Intel's decision to release a 6-core desktop processor, it's evident AMD's pressure changed Intel's pricing and release schedule.

Ys Origin Xbox One review: A classic JRPG, modernized

Ys Origin recently came to Xbox One. Here's why this 12 year old JRPG is more than worth your time.

Japanese role-playing games (JRPGs) are a rather rare sight on the Xbox One these days, and based on what we know of the future, there aren't very many coming soon, either. Luckily, though, the critically-acclaimed Ys Origin has been ported to the console from PC. Xbox gamers who love JRPGs will be happy to know that, despite a rather average story, the fantastic gameplay, visuals, and score make the experience more than worth the price of admission.
