Rather than playing as one character, you are actually a group of eight warriors, each with their own stats, weapons, appearance, and even backstory. Before entering any of the gods' realms, you get to select which warrior enters, as some will have advantages and disadvantages. Sometimes they want revenge for some sacrifice they once witnessed, giving them a boost, and other times they are still haunted by nightmares, and so will enter at a disadvantage. Failure can mean the warrior is trapped or dead, with trapped meaning they can be rescued, if you successfully defeat the god. When a warrior is killed, they will never return.
