IgorsLAB: Edifier S355DB 2.1 Audio Speaker System Review - Powerful Multi-Source Talent, Wireless Subwoofer and Solid Sound | Update

The Edifier S355DB, launched in Germany last week and therefore still quite new, is an active 2.1 speaker system with two compact satellites and a separate 8-inch subwoofer that is not traditionally tethered to the satellite unit via a thick signal cable, but according to the manufacturer is connected wirelessly over 5.8 GHz. Edifier specifies a total system output of 150 watts RMS, divided into two times 15 watts for the tweeters, two times 25 watts for the midrange drivers, and 70 watts for the subwoofer. This places the S355DB very precisely between a classic PC speaker set, a living-room-capable TV solution, and a small hi-fi system for users who do not want an amplifier, an AV receiver, or half a cable jungle behind the desk. Of course, it does not work completely without cables; otherwise it would be magic rather than audio technology, but the wireless subwoofer at least removes one of the typical stumbling blocks of such sets. It is the logical continuation of the S350DB with many new features, especially in terms of connectivity.
