Why is W2K not installing?

I've installed W2k about 15 times in under 24 hours-it never finishes installationalways stops somewhere in the registering components or in the saving settings. I've pulled all my cards, just using the Video now.

Everytime I start up apcompat, the program freezes up. The only thing I can do it close it and when I do that, then the selected executable runs the way it did before I started apcompat. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Comp.

Hey I have a scsi yamaha 4x2x6 burner and I don't know if this thing is messed up. My friends ide HP 8x4x32 can erase a cdrw in just under 1 minute using the quick mode, on my yamaha it takes almost an hour with using the same erase mode.

Unsafe removal of device..

Anyone here knows what is up with my cdrom drive? i kepp on getting the 'unsafe removal of device' warning for my BTC cdrom. Warns me about removing the device while the system is still running, but the fact is i didn't.

Does it matter to games whether they are run on a FAT32 or NTFS file system? Are there any compatibilty issues or speed issues with NTFS and games? The main games I play are Asheron's Call and Counter Strike.

My Pictures Folder under My Documents

If I save a picture under My Pictures, I'll have a little thumbnail display for each file (similar to ACDSee Browser). However, if I create a sub directory under My Pictures, it won't work anymore. Is this a bug in Win2k? On the other hand, I have WinME Beta installed and it seems to work okay in WinME.

Hello, I have a networking question. I connect to the internet using a Cisco 675 DSL modem, and I've noticed that it acts as a firewall, meaning I have to enter NAT information into the modem for it to do port mapping, to allow communication through certain ports.

Well I used to be totally up on all available chipsets. Just from the name of a motherboard I could tell you what CPU's you could fit. I used to know what chipsets supported what - seems I have let my knowledge drop.

Will Linux be the next big thing? i think so as the OS is an open source code and more and more people and computer vendors want it for its stability and reliablilitly. it's really annoying when some people have never heard of any other operating system apart from windows.
