Hello again: The computer which I have Win2K Pro installed on is used by just two users on a regular basis, each with their own account. When a user logs off, Windows automatically ends any dial-up connections.

Win 2000 clean install using upgrade disk

Is it possible to do a full clean installation using the upgrade CD? I am not trying to cheat the system, but am about to buy the upgrade CD and it occured to me that if the OS screwed up and I needed to reinstall, I wouldn't want to have to wipe the disk, install NT4 and then upgrade to Win2K.

Hello, When I insert my Pinnacle PCTV card into my Abit KT7-RAID everything boots up fine, till I get the OSselectscreen. Then when I select win2k pro the computer hangs. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I have inserted the card in 3 different slots but that didn't help!!!!!!!1 Like A Prayer.

Ok, I'm just having one problem with Windows 2000, albeit a fairly large problem. For some strange reason Windows 2000 decides to reboot itself at random times, usually after a few hours of operation.

I would really like help please. I used to get the following Error: The Win16 Subsystem was unable to enter Protected Mode, DOSX. EXE must be in your AUTOEXEC. NT and present in your PATH. I followed the fix on: and now it still happens.

I currently have a Dell Demension XPSt600r. The hardware consist of 600r chip,256sdram,27gig hd. Diamond Viper 32mb Vid Card. Ultra66 Controller,Hp 9100 Cdr. My problem is. . Some time ago I put windows 2k as a dual boot with windows9x and it ran great.

Hello, When I boot my computer I get to choose from Win2k pro or 'unidentified OS on drive C'. Does anyone know if this is normal, or is there still a left over of win98 which I booted from another drive but not anymore.

I recently downloaded PS2Rate for Windows 2000. I set the rate to 150 but on boot I can't even move my mouse. Anyone have a work around? The 100hz set by windows is too slow for some games. Thanks. .

hi, i run a half life gamming server. and every so often hlds crashes. when it crashes an error window comes up and says hlds. exe has crashed blah blah. . . creating an error log and then it has on OK button.

Word 2000 crashes after 5-10 seconds, It used to work fine. I tried opening it up with a old doc, txt file, new doc, and blank page and all with the same result. I am about to install the sp1 for office 2000.

Dual processors, is it worth it?

I am thinking about getting a new computer, and I am considering waiting for AMD's 760mp board so I can run dual Athlons. I am also thinking about a dual PIII setup. What kind of perforamce increase could I expect to see, and what types of applications would benefit the most? I plan to run 2000 on it.
