Sorry people if this is a repeated post. i already used the search engine and none of the results helped me much. My question is how do you password-protect shares under windows 2000 AND windows XP? Please include for BOTH windows 2000 and Windows XP.

Has or is anyone else having problems running Bryce 5 under WinXP? Everytime I run it everything just seems to die on my computer. I can't click on anything on the taskbar, I have to use the keyboard and windows key or alt tab to switch out of things.

Ok, this might not be the right forum but I created a folder in XP under my accound name. Then I messed XP up & had todo a rebuild so I just overwrote the old windows & created a new user with the same name as the old one.

Win2k does not shutdown/restart

windows 2k does not shutdown or restart at all. after it gives my the message that it is shutting down, the window disapears and leaves me with a blank desktop, and i need to restart manually. although when i get back to windows, it doesn't tell me i need to scan any disks due to an incomplete shutdown.

XP taking forever to shutdown

Using XP Pro. Everything was cool until I installed nvidia 21. 81 ref drivers. Now my system takes a good 60 to 70 seconds to power down. Anyone else having this problem. Tried the 21. 83 whql drivers just made things worse.

I am using WinXP pro final and for some reason my favorites pane in IE6 is not showing the little folder or link icons. This is really annoying does anyone have any suggesions as to how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance for any help!.

If you count my dad's laptop, 7 are at home, six if not (nearly fooled ya, there:p). Of course, mine are the fastest overall, only loosing out with 5400RPM drives to 7200RPM ones. .

Has anyone had any luck getting the Dxr3 to work in WinXP? I tried the Win2k drivers, mainly because I don't have anything else - and the player starts up. But when I try to run a DVD, it just hangs and won't do anything? Is there something I can try? - or is it a case of waiting for Creative to get XP drivers out? ...

well if u seen my last post about the harddrive problem. . which i figured out. . this problem i think is from that. i used the hardware for my new harddrive to ghost copy my other drive to new one,and now im having problems with my microsoft sidewinder gamepad.
