Back to Win2k from XP, felt like coming home..

I just reinstalled my workstation at home. Back to Win2k from XP and the only thing I can think of is why did'nt I do this earlier. I't feels so much more speedy and snappier and this is on a PIII 1Ghz with 512MB.

100% cpu usage, need help

Ok, I have this computer running XP and everytime you start the cpu is running at 100% constantly. I checked task manager and found two programs running that are causing this. AcroRd31. exe and agsubr.

On the list of games, Recoil is shown as being compatible with Windows 2000. Unfortunately, an error message stating that Windows 95 or 98 is required pops up when I try and install it. How do I get around that?.

Replace Mediaplayer 6 with 7 for online streaming?

Hello i was wondering if anyone can tell me how i replace windows mediaplayer 6 with 7, what i mean is that when i am opening an online streaming source ( like yahoo news or some other news sites that use mediaplayer) instead of mediaplayer 7 poping up and playing the stream, the old windows mediaplayer 6.

What is the deal with XP and ZIP files. I use Winrar 2. 9 and anytime when I am browsing my files in Windows Explorer, if I single click on a ZIP file, CPU usage jumps to 100 % or so for a brief moment.

Got the Audigy Platinum front drive working under XP Pro

I took my Audigy Platinum back to the store that I bought it from and exchanged it for another copy. Installed that, and everything works like a charm; remote center, front inputs, etc. My guess is thateither the drive data cable or power cable was faulty.

I installed diablo 2 and expansion. . ran the video test and with my geforce 3 i ran the 3d (d3d) setup. . . Went online and change res to 800*600 and i average 30 frames. . . it jumps from 30 to 60 then sometimes to 6??? WTF?? If i play in single player i get 30 on average??? Here is an event I have in my Zone Alarm Pro log: The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (UDP Port 7062) from 204. 127. 202. 4 (DNS). Why would zone alarm block this? Any idea?.

whenever i play online streaming content, it uses the 6. 4 media player instead of the newer 7. 1 or (8. 0 in xp) i know its using 6. 4 because if you right click on the window and choose about. it shows that its using 6.

Man, O man, I just had the freakiest BIOS flashing I've ever seen. In preparation for an Athlon XP, I had to flash to the latest BIOS. The flash went fine until I rebooted. Got strange beeps, so I turned off the power (yes, the bios flash was complete and said to do so when I rebooted).

I am getting an _ins5176. MP. exe has generated errors command when I try to install the quake mission pack: the reckoning on my Windows 2000 operating system. I successfully installed quake II already.

I thought this was a joke. The 845D as product of the year. Anyways I let him know about it. With products like the Geforce 3 and even the ATI Radeon 8500, a mediocre chipset like the 845D, that was long coming shouldn't even be in the top 5 IMO.
